During April 17-19, 2023, students of specialty 071 “Accounting and Taxation” of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” took part in a three-day workshop “Successful employment” organized by the employees of the Municipal Institution “Regional Youth Centre” of the Poltava Regional Council. The students improved their communication skills, self-presentation skills, creativity, and learned how to overcome barriers in communication with employers. Future professionals had the opportunity to practice their soft skills and increase their competitiveness in the modern labour market.
During the workshop, career consultant, HR specialist Victoriia Bondarenko familiarized the young students of the Poltava Polytechnic with the requirements of employers for applicants for a certain vacancy and with the modern labour market in general. According to her, job search should be a conscious process based on the seeker’s vision of her/his future life path.
In interesting and meaningful classes, students learned how to make a resume, write cover letters, and familiarized themselves with the procedure of an interview with a potential employer.
At the end of the informative event, the students received certificates of participation.
The teachers and students of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” express their sincere gratitude to the coach Victoriia Bondarenko and the director of the Communal Institution “Regional Youth Centre” of the Poltava Regional Council Svitlana Hromtseva for the opportunity to participate in a great youth event.
After all, Poltava Polytechnic, as a powerful multidisciplinary classical university, has repeatedly become a platform for excellent implementation of the synergistic effect of science and education, business and local self-government bodies, creating comfortable conditions for the comprehensive development of creative, successful and socially adapted graduates’ personalities.
Earlier, scientists, students and practitioners exchanged useful cases in the field of public administration on the basis of the Department of the National Mediation and Conciliation Service in the Poltava region, and the head of the problem debt settlement department of JSC “Ukrgasbank” gave a lecture to the students on the audit of the bank's loan portfolio.
It should be recalled that economists discussed the priority directions for the development of the national economy in the conditions of globalization, military operations and post-war reconstruction, and students and representatives of the patrol police discussed how to counteract the manifestations of bullying in the educational and youth environment.
