The Ukrainian Young Architects Competition was founded in 2009 by CANactions together with the Dessau Institute of Architecture (DIA). Over the life of the Competition, which has become a professional “window to Europe” for Ukrainian architects, more than 1,300 projects have been received, from which 139 finalist projects have been selected by members of the international jury. As a result, more than 56 finalists of the Competition received special awards and prizes from partners; 26 young architects were able to study for a master’s degree at the Institute of Architecture in DIA (Dessau) on preferential terms. Every year the prize fund of the Competition increases due to the joining of new partners. In addition to DIA, during the years of the Competition's existence they were EASA (Europe Architecture Students Assembly), ArchDaily, MLA + (Make Life Amazing), London Architecture Festival, JUNG Ukraine, TU Brno, Kharkiv School of Architecture and others.
