On April 29, 2022, during a government sitting, a draft law "On Termination of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on Scientific and Technical Cooperation" (developed by the Ministry of Education and Science) was approved, as well as the relevant order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
"There can be no cooperation between Ukrainian scientists and a country that has launched a large-scale aggression on the territory of our country, ruthlessly killing civilians, destroying residential buildings and educational institutions," – noted Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet.
The draft law proposes to completely terminate cooperation between ministries of education, research institutions, scientific organizations and societies, higher educational institutions and enterprises, etc. In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Cabinet of Ministers, the draft law will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Previously, the Government denounced agreements in the field of education and science with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
