On August 12, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the Decree "On Awarding State Awards of Ukraine", according to which the graduate of the specialty 017 "Physical Culture and Sports" at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", the champion of the World Games in Thai Boxing – Muay Thai Oleh Pryimachov was awarded the Order of Merit of the II degree "for considerable services in strengthening Ukrainian statehood, courage and dedication shown in the protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, significant personal contribution to the development of various spheres of public life, defense of the national interests of our state and on the occasion of Youth Day".

"It is a great honor for me to receive an award for my achievements in sports from the hands of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Our athletes are a powerful international front of support for Ukraine. They prove it all over the world, raising the blue and yellow flag. They prove that Ukraine is synonymous with victory. The victory that is sure to await us on the battlefield. Athletes who defend our independence with weapons in their hands also make their contribution. Now I am also heading the voluntary formation "Legion" to protect the Poltava region and Ukraine together with my comrades. Currently, Oleh has headed the voluntary formation "Legion", where he is preparing to defend Ukraine with several dozen fighters.

Earlier, the Minister of Education and Science congratulated the students of the Polytechnic, the winners of the European University Games 2022, and the teacher of the Polytechnic was awarded the Citation of the Mayor for her significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports in Poltava.
