Oleksandr Mamai, the Head of the Poltava city territorial community, praised Poltava athletes who recently glorified the city to the whole world for their achievements in sports. The student of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", a multiple champion of Ukraine, a medalist of the World and Europe Championships 2020, 2021, the World Junior Powerlifting Champion in 2022 Dariia Holovko, who won in the weight category up to 43 kg and won three small awards at the World Powerlifting Championships among juniors (male and female), boys and girls, held in Istanbul, was awarded the Citation for the victory in the World Championships in powerlifting among juniors as well as for her high sports achievements, which glorified the city of Poltava at a high international level. According to the head of the community, it is a pleasure to celebrate important personal achievements and victories of Poltava athletes who glorify our country at prestigious international tournaments.
"Our hope and support is the young generation. They will live and rebuild the country. Poltava has its winners. Thank you for your high achievements in sports, the popularization of sports among young people! You are our pride!", – thanked Oleksandr Mamai.
For a significant personal contribution to the training and education of the future sports elite, the Honorary Certificate of Poltava City Council was also awarded to the champion coach, senior teacher of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", master of sports of international class of Ukraine in powerlifting, silver medalist of the European Championships in classical bench press among women, Oksana Hordiienko, who has already brought up a whole galaxy of professional athletes and was awarded the Mayor's Citation for her significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports in Poltava.
The student and teacher also received money certificates as an encouragement from the community.
It should be recalled that Dariia Holovko became the world champion in powerlifting among juniors in 2022 and the European champion in powerlifting in 2021.
Recently, the Polytechnic athlete became a bronze medalist of the Dragon Boat World Championships, the student of FPCS received the title of master of sports of the international class of Ukraine in arm wrestling.
