The Students Who Developed a Greenhouse Unit and an Energy Efficient Incubator Are Awarded Winner Diplomas at All-Ukrainian Competition

The Student Research Competition was held at Dnipro State Technical University.

The second-grade diplomas were given to students Anna Blishch (group 501mME) and Viktor Kovalenko (401ME) for developing a microclimate control system for greenhouses. Their academic advisor was Candidate of Engineering, Associate Professor at the Department of Automatics, Electronics and Telecommunications Svitlana Kyslytsia.

“The students developed an automatized system to allow for effective control of temperature and humidity in a greenhouse based on microprocessor controllers. The microclimate formation in greenhouses depends on a whole complex of settings. To create optimal microclimate in a greenhouse and to achieve the goal, the students developed a gadget built on a microprocessor controller. The unit is a complex system with numerous equipment which records temperature, light and humidity, and also controls various technological processes necessary for proper and effective activity of such production process,” said academic advisor Svitlana Kyslytsia.

The automatized system of technological setting control developed by students ensures continuous collecting, processing and displaying the information about the greenhouse operation. The system function is based on the sensor data, and the control is performed in five settings, such as soil temperature and humidity, air temperature and humidity, and light amount. This system of microclimate setting control in greenhouses will allow to increase the energy efficiency of production process and the production quality. The research article of Yuri Kondratyuk National University students was ranked second in the All-Ukrainian Student Research Competition.

Third grade diplomas were given to students Stanislav Metashok (group 401ME) and Vasyl Khaniukov (501mME). Their academic advisor was Candidate of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor at the Department of Automatics, Electronics and Telecommunications of Yuri Kondratyuk National University Volodymyr Borshch.

“Young scientists worked to create an original construction of an energy efficient incubator for farm business with the automatic system of microclimate setting control. The authors achieved power consumption decrease by using gravity field energy,” Volodymyr Borshch, the students’ academic advisor, said. They were ranked third at the All-Ukrainian Student Research Competition for this design.
