From October 16 to 27, 2023, the first stage of the All-Ukrainian robotics competition took place, held in a mixed format. The purpose of the competition is to implement educational projects in robotics and electronics through the creation and programming of robotic systems on Internet platforms for simulating project models; stimulating the creative, intellectual, spiritual and physical development of young people, meeting their needs for creative self-realization; selection of the most promising and effective projects and their implementation within the framework of participation in All-Ukrainian, international competitions, festivals; forming among young people a high sense of patriotism, a sense of loyalty, love for the Motherland, care for the well-being of their people, readiness to fulfil their civic and constitutional duty to protect the national interests, integrity, and independence of Ukraine.
The team of “Robotics” club of the Poltava City Extracurricular Education Centre of the Poltava City Council, operating on the basis of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, won the II place in the “Freestyle” nomination with the project “Development of a robotic complex for intelligence”.
The participants of the competition were students of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics of the Poltava Polytechnic: students of the “Electronic Communications and Radio Engineering” specialty – Lavr Sabelnikov and Oleksandr Bilokin, a student of the “Computer Science” specialty Oleksii Velychko, as well as pupils of the schools that attend the group – Ivan Ilnytskyi (Lyceum “Leader”) and Sviatoslav Vedmid (Poltava School of General Education No. 9). The project leaders are Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Automation, Electronics and Telecommunications of the Poltava Polytechnic, head of the “Robotics” club, Oleksandr Laktionov, and PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies Nazar Pedchenko.

Previously, the Poltava Polytechnic Robotics Club became a platform for the implementation of the most creative youth projects.
Recently, students of the Poltava Polytechnic visited the Poltava office of SoftServe and learned about employment in an IT company, and a representative of the NIX IT team gave a lecture to the students about the advantages of the Python programming language.
