The graduate of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oleksandr Tertychenko was chosen the new head of the Weatherford Ukraine Ltd, the Ukrainian department of one of the largest oil and gas service companies in the world.

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” has been cooperating with the representatives of Weatherford, a company from the oil and gas “big four”, for a few years already. Within the cooperation, the representatives of the company hold motivational seminars for the university students, take part in scientific and practical conferences and industrial forums. Besides, the students of Poltava Polytechnic do internships in the oil and gas company, and many of them are working there and have achieved great success.

This is a wonderful motivation for the youth!” the Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko congratulated the new head of Weatherford Ukraine Ltd.

Oleksandr Tertychenko’s story is a bright example of a successful career that started from the right choice of profession and higher education institution.

Oleksandr started his way to success in the former Poltava Oil Geological Prospecting Technical School (now Poltava Oil and Gas College) at the specialization “Drilling of Oil and Gas Wells”, and became a technician.

He received higher education at National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” in the specialization “Oil and Gas Production”, and became a qualified engineer of oil and gas production.

He had worked at Weatherford for 10 years. He led many successful operations for accidents elimination at wells. Oleksandr was the Head of the Department of Complicated Operations in Drilling (in Well Workovers) and he developed the department from the starting positions to the strongest in Europe. He had also been the first in Europe to hold an experimental operation on eliminating differential pressure sticking using the Agitator Technology.
