University student becomes a bronze prize winner of the scientific competition, having researched the implementation of European practices in household solid waste management for enterprises of the Poltava region

A student of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Maryna Horbunova became the bronze winner of the International Student Research Papers Competition in the specialty 076 "Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities". The young scientist researched the implementation of European practices of the closed-loop economy in solid household waste management for enterprises of the Poltava region.

On June 1, 2023, on the basis of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University, a meeting of the sectoral competition commission of the II round of the International Student Research Papers Competition in the specialty 076 "Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities" was held, which took place in the format of the final scientific and practical Zoom conference. Young scientists from Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Georgia, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, China and the United States of America took part in the competition. In total, 57 scientific papers from 71 participants from 36 higher education institutions were submitted for consideration by the members of the highly qualified jury.

Scientific paper of Maryna Horbunova, a student of the specialty 076 "Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities" of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", "Implementation of European practices of the closed cycle economy in the management of solid household waste for enterprises of the Poltava region" won a prize and the author was awarded a III-degree diploma.  

The student's research was carried out with the support of the Erasmus+ programme within the Jean Monnet Erasmus+ Project "Reforming the Environmental, Energy, Economic and Financial Spheres of Ukraine in the Context of European Integration" of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic". The scientific supervisors of the presented work were Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing of Poltava Polytechnic Kseniia Chychulina and Professor of the Department of Tourism, PhD, Director of the Department of Tourism of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (Georgia) Anzor Devadze.

"The victory at the scientific competition is another powerful incentive to engage in scientific activities, we have as an example the work of participants from different countries of the world. In the future, we plan to continue working on the chosen topic, we are convinced that the obtained scientific results will certainly find a wide practical application," – commented the student's supervisor, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Kseniia Chychulina.

Earlier, university students and teachers became participants in an international educational online project with a Dutch partner university, university scientists held a master class on writing grant applications, sharing stories of successful participation in Erasmus+ projects, and young scientists from higher education institutions discussed academic integrity in Ukraine and abroad.
