The Centre for Veteran Development of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” continues to work successfully on the implementation of the priority directions of the governmental pilot project on the transition of war veterans from military service to civilian life through education, sports and rehabilitation.

According to the specialists of the Veteran Development Centre, holding cultural and educational events as well as art therapy sessions helps to return defenders to peaceful life. The coordinator of Veteran Development Centre of Poltava Polytechnic, Vitalii Zakladnyi is convinced that cultural and educational activities as a part of rehabilitation play an important role in the reintegration process of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Holding artistic events with the involvement of defenders and their families helps to relieve mental stress, since art therapy provides veterans with a unique opportunity to get out of the state of restlessness and anxiety as well as helps them to recover fully.

As part of the governmental project, the Veteran Development Centre helped to organise an educational excursion to the State Historical and Cultural Reserve “The Battlefield of Poltava” for veterans undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at one of the specialised medical institutions in Poltava.

Thanks to the comprehensive support of specialists of the Veteran Development Centre of Poltava Polytechnic, war veterans were able to join the in-depth study of the fateful events of the past centuries that played a huge role in the formation of Ukraine as an independent state. The defenders got acquainted with the heroic figures who defended the interests of Ukraine starting from the XIV century, learned a lot of interesting facts about the Northern War and the majestic figure of Hetman Ivan Mazepa, as well as had a good time in the circle of like-minded people.
