The competition was held among students of four age categories: born in 2004-2006, 2007-2009, 2010 and younger.
Young athletes (girls and boys) accompanied by coaches represented four territorial communities of Poltava region: Kolomatska – 7 participants; Kotelevska – 6 participants (as part of CYSS “Molod”); Velykorublivska – 4 participants; Machukhivska – 3 participants (Ploskivska Secondary School).

The participants of the competition and winners were greeted by the head of the separate subdivision “Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports” in Poltava region, Rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Andrii Bobliakh, and acting Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Professor Lina Rybalko.
“I am always happy when children and young people are fond of sports. I sincerely support competitions, and the Community Cup has become a spectacle of beautiful sport matches. I thank each participant and coach, the parliamentarian for an interesting youth project and the choice of the Polytechnic as the main partner for this sports event. It is difficult to overestimate the role of youth in the development of our state, which is now celebrating its main national holiday. You are the leaders, and I am convinced that playing sports will definitely help you achieve success in life. I have been playing table tennis professionally for a long time and thanks to this sport I have developed important managerial qualities. Besides, every workout is a great way to reboot from everyday worries. Continue to lead such an active, healthy lifestyle, be patriots of our state, your communities and I wish you to take a prominent place in the history of Ukraine,” – said Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
The winners played matches and tested skills of the Rector of Poltava Polytechnic.
“I wish you to remain so enterprising, purposeful, and not to stop there – maybe in this wonderful hall of Poltava Polytechnic, there are future Olympic champions. Special thanks to the University, the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports and personally to the Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko for impeccable organization, high level of competitions and strong support for the development of student sports,” – commented People’s Deputy Andrii Bobliakh.
