On the Eve of the Christmas holidays, university received a wonderful present from partners from the United State of America, which included ceramic pieces, unique collections about art, catalogs of the most famous museums of the world for Fine Arts Department of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic". American artist Nataliia Kormeliuk, an old friend of our university, kept her connections with Ukraine, her parents’ home, although she was born in Germany and had lived in the USA for her whole life.

The books about art, the journals, monographs and collections, as well as ceramic pieces yet again became an addition to the facilities of Poltava Polytechnic, and will be used by teachers and students to study the tendencies of contemporary arts. In summer, the American colleague presented a collection of art publications to Fine Arts Department of Poltava Polytechnic.

Further cooperation plans include developing a special program of a student book on history and techniques of artistic ceramics for Ukrainian students, as well as holding lectures and seminars at our university.

“The materials will help students learn art not only with electronic means, but also using the unique publications for broader scientific research that they are working on in the interest of the development of science at your university”, Nataliia Kormeliuk commented in her brief to Ukrainian colleagues. Students and teachers will also be able to learn about the life of Ukrainians in the USA from the fresh issues of “Our Life”, a journal of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America.

According to PhD in Art, Head of Fine Arts Department of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Tetiana Zinenko, the editions they received will make for students’ learning of new and traditional techniques of creating artistic ceramic pieces and the news of this field. “The issues are in English, so they will help develop the level of professional English and contribute to receiving new knowledge in an cross-subject format for art students and translation students of Faculty of Humanities,” the scientist commented.

The academic team of Fine Arts Department of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” are thankful to Nataliia Kormeliuk for such a fruitful international communication and for finding new approaches to teaching artistic subjects.
