Authors of innovative startups become winners of the “StartUP Poltava Region” business competition

On December 17, Poltava Regional State Administration awarded the winners of the Entrepreneurship Support Competition “StartUP Poltava Region”. It was launched this year in accordance with the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises in Poltava region for 2021-2023.

“Choosing the best projects was quite difficult for us. The launch of this competition became possible with the support of the Poltava Regional Council. The purpose of the activity is to direct funds from the regional budget to start off businesses, create new areas or expand already existing types of business activities. In the future, we plan to continue this initiative to support young entrepreneurs,” – noted Deputy Head of Poltava Regional State Administration Maksym Kalinin and presented certificates for the cash prize.

According to the decision of the competition committee “StartUP Poltava Region” winners in the category “Innovative startup projects” became business projects:

I prize – creation of digital hub “Upmix.com” (authors: student of group 301-EM Mykhailo Buhaievskyi, student of group 301-ER Alina Buhai, Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law)

II prize – “Agronavigator”

The winners of the first prize offered to create a win-win digital hub “Upmix.com” to analyze the market, test business ideas and support startup projects, improve one’s business models, seek funding, and interact with communities in three regions. Mykhailo Buhaievskyi was the winner of the investment projects competition “Horizons of Poltava Region” and the regional competition of scientific papers “From student self-government to community self-government”.

The third prize was awarded to the “B-parking” project with the slogan “Your place on the map of Poltava”. According to the leader of the team of authors Oleksandr Zyma, the startup provides drivers with convenient service and is designed to solve many pressing problems: congestion of central streets, increase traffic safety, fill gaps in existing e-parking services, lack of interactive parking map, lack of effective and modern parking policy in the town and region, modernization of municipal services, increasing the tourist and investment attractiveness of the town and region.

It should be recalled that in early March Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation in Education, Science with the Executive Committee of Poltava City Council and an agreement to establish an innovation cluster in Poltava together with the “SIKORSKY CHALLENGE” holding, as well as opened the first Center for Technology and Innovation Support in the Poltava region.

Last year, Polytechnic representatives won the startup competition in the women’s business marathon.
