Within the framework of the agreement on scientific and educational cooperation between the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, personally initiated by the rector of the university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, and within the exchange program from Education USA “Academy of Leadership for Internationalization”, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Anna Aheicheva took part in a two-day international conference held on October 7-8 at Santa Fe College (Florida, USA). An interesting international scientific event “21st Annual FCIE Conference” was held with the assistance of the Florida Consortium for International Education. Experts and well-known scientists from leading universities from around the world actively participated in scientific discussions and debates on higher education.
Anna Aheicheva, a scientist at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, presented a report on “When I’ll See “You”: Building the Bridges Between Cultures”, co-authored with PhD student Svitlana Sharkova and Santa Fe College Professor David Manning. The speaker outlined the future prospects of scientific and educational cooperation between two powerful higher education institutions and shared successful cases of virtual exchanges during the global pandemic COVID-19. In May 2020, during a prestigious international conference held as part of the 14th Science Festival, scientists from four countries discussed innovations in foreign language training of specialists.
According to Anna Aheicheva, on the basis of the Faculty of Humanities of Poltava Polytechnic, one of the best Ukrainian universities as well as research and educational centers of Poltava region, in 2021 there are active virtual academic exchanges “Exploring the Humanities from Inter-Cultural Perspectives”. They are aimed at stimulating creative activity of future young scientists, meeting with American students, exchanging experiences and ideas, along with acquainting young people with the results of recent researches and the latest trends in various fields of knowledge. At the end of March 2021, the American partners of the University from Santa Fe College shared the latest trends in youth science, practical educational cases and held a series of motivational meetings with student youth.
Students of Ukrainian and American educational institutions-partners take part in the project. During educational sessions students are given the opportunity to communicate in foreign languages on the principle of experience exchange. Participants are actively making presentations on the main topics of the project, and students of the “Secondary Education” as well as “Philology” specialties of Poltava Polytechnic use a foreign language environment as a platform for translation practice and exchange of practical research including educational cases with peers.

Talented young people use every opportunity to share their experience and borrow the best practices of international partners,” – commented Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Anna Aheicheva.
The scientist told about joint international projects and shared the experience of conducting international events online, noted the active participation of our partners and friends from the United States in joint projects, furthermore invited to participate in scientific events dedicated to the 203rd anniversary of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. At the beginning of last year, the scientist was at Santa Fe College on an academic exchange program, where she shared her teaching experience, attended lectures and seminars by American colleagues, learned about the content and form of training courses, teaching methods, educational process and research organization.
Anna Aheicheva also noted the urgency of internationalization in education. According to her, participation in such events is extremely important, since the active dialogue continues and friendly relations between educational institutions-partners are strengthened: “I express my sincere gratitude to the Assistant Rector of Santa Fe College for Academic Affairs, Wilma Fuentes, for the high level of organization of such bright and innovative event. I would also like to thank the rector of my home university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko and the Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work Svitlana Sivitska for the conditions created at the university for development and fruitful cooperation with international partners. Previously, scientists from 12 countries shared innovative approaches to teaching foreign languages, and discussed the peculiarities of teaching English in Ukraine and Brazil.
