For the third time, the organisers of the conference and exhibition will provide Ukraine with the opportunity to participate in the event free of charge within the framework of the international programme DAAD Mol Ukraine – Management of Internationalisation and German-Ukrainian Academic Cooperation.
For the second time in a row, the academic staff of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” developed and implemented their projects on the programme’s topic, and this year the presentation of the developments was joined by the Head of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Vorobiova.
The large-scale international event brought together more than 7,000 participants from more than 100 countries – representatives of universities, educational organisations, professional associations, and government agencies. The format of the event provided an opportunity to join panel discussions and thematic sessions, take part in networking events and workshops on the internationalisation of higher education and modern trends of its development, share ideas with like-minded people in the EAIE Community Drop-in Area, work and spend time in the EAIE Village, communicate and recuperate in the EAIE Member Lounge.
Poltava Polytechnic, together with 15 leading universities and educational organisations of our country, represented Ukrainian higher education at the joint stand “Higher Education in Ukraine”. The slogan of this year’s event was “En Route!” – on the way to partnership in education and science, to sustainable development, to understanding diversity, inclusion, overcoming all barriers, to peace only after the Victory!
“It was a real honour for me to represent Poltava Polytechnic and the Poltava region in general at such a large-scale and powerful event. It is a real platform for establishing new and strengthening the existing partnerships, expanding the possibilities of academic mobility of students and teachers, discussing ideas for joint research and grant projects.
The thematic sessions within the DAAD Mol Ukraine programme “Management of Internationalisation and Ukrainian-German Academic Cooperation 2024” were extremely informative and motivating for me and my project, dedicated to the experience of implementing blended intensive programmes (BIPs) and collaborative online international learning (COILs), the importance of involving stakeholders in the internationalisation process, as well as the use of case studies and innovative methods of teaching English for academic purposes. I am sincerely grateful to the university administration and the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy for their comprehensive support of the initiatives, including participation in this grand event,” – said participant Oksana Vorobiova.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Anna Aheicheva, the project of the philologist aims to develop a multilingual strategy for a multidisciplinary classical university, which provides an important basis for the development of internationalisation in education and science, and expands the horizons of cooperation within the framework of academic mobility and grant projects.
“Thanks to the long-term efforts of the Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, our university pays great attention to the study of foreign languages as a reliable guarantee of training highly qualified professionals. Young people have a unique opportunity to study English, German, Polish and French as compulsory subjects or as elective courses.
Thanks to the enormous support of the humanitarian vector of development, the university is dynamically entering the European and world educational space, which is possible only if the future specialists are well-trained in foreign languages, if they develop foreign philology and if they have effective cross-cultural communication. Representatives of the academic community, undergraduate and postgraduate students of the university additionally deepen their knowledge and train their language skills at the Foreign Languages Centre of Poltava Polytechnic, which is in great demand among the community, internally displaced persons, and the administrative structures of Poltava and the Poltava region, which, in its turn, creates a positive social effect and promotes sustainable development,” – emphasises Anna Aheicheva.
It should be recalled that earlier, a scientist of Polytechnic took part in a workshop on managing internationalisation and Ukrainian-German academic cooperation at a leading European university.
Recently, scientists of Poltava Polytechnic attended the Third World Forum of Ukrainian Saturday and Sunday Schools, and a philologist became a participant of the international project of modern methods of non-formal education “Familiensprachschule”.
