The ERA4Ukraine portal will operate in the EURAXESS network, which supports scholars from more than 600 research centers and contains 43 national portals in EU member states and countries that have become associate participants in the EU's EU research and innovation programme "Horizon Europe".
Currently, the portal contains information on the support of Ukrainian scholars from 30 countries in English. The Ukrainian version will be available soon.
EC Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel noted: "We support Ukrainian researchers and innovators who have faced unprecedented circumstances as a result of the Russian invasion of their country. Ukrainian scientists and innovators have made significant contributions to EU research and innovation. Pending the ratification of the Agreement on Ukraine's participation in the "Horizon Europe" program, we have provided funding for successful projects now. Today's launch of ERA4Ukraine is another important event to support our Ukrainian partners."
Last week, the President of the European Research Council (ERC) Maria Leptin appealed to 5,600 ERC grantees with a request to ensure temporary employment to researchers and technical staff from Ukraine. In the first days, 380 offers were received, which can be found at the link.
Another EU initiative gives Ukrainians access to the Science4Refugees program on the EURAXESS network. Here is information about internships, part-time and full-time work. The ERA4Ukraine portal contains the initiative page of a public group of student volunteers and researchers from academic institutions in Europe and the world #Science4Ukraine. On this page, volunteers collect and disseminate information about opportunities to support Ukrainian postgraduate students and scientists at the university, national and international levels.
European partners acknowledge that Russia's military aggression has caused the biggest humanitarian crisis in Europe in decades, and they are working on all fronts to support Ukraine.
It should be recalled that by the end of 2022, Ukrainian scientists are provided with free access to full-text electronic resources available within the Research4Life project.
