Dear Master’s students and academic staff of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology, and Pedagogy! National University “Yurii Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” announces the opening of a competition for participation in the Erasmus+ academic mobility program for the 2025/2026 academic year in cooperation with a leading higher education institution in Spain – Complutense University of Madrid.
Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) is one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious universities, founded in 1293. Consistently ranking among the top universities globally, UCM is renowned for its robust academic traditions and groundbreaking research, particularly excelling in the fields of humanities, linguistics, and pedagogy – making it an ideal destination for English Philology specialists and students of related disciplines. The university boasts a vast library, state-of-the-art research facilities, and a vibrant international community.

English language proficiency test (for students): March 05, 2026, at 10:00 AM (room 323-C).
Competition Areas and Requirements
This year, the competition is announced in two areas:
1. For Academic Staff (Staff Mobility – Teaching):
- Specialists in English Philology are invited.
- Type of mobility: teaching – 8 hours of lectures.
- Number of places: 1.
- Duration: 5 working days + 2 days for travel.
- Mobility period: April or May 2026.
- Funding: a grant within the standard norms of the Erasmus+ program.

- motivation letter (Motivation Letter) in .docx format
- curriculum vitae (CV) in .docx format
- scanned copy of international passport (1st spread, PDF)
- passport photo (Passport photo) in .jpg format
- an 8-lecture plan (including title, outline, and a brief abstract for each), signed by the Head of the Department.
Templates for documents can be found in the relevant order or obtained from the International Relations Department.
The package of documents must be submitted simultaneously in electronic and printed form to the International Relations Department (213-C, interoffice@nupp.edu.ua).
2. For Master’s students (internship/practice under the Erasmus+ program).
- The program is designed for students in the specialities “Secondary Education” and “Philology”.
- Type of mobility: internship with a focus on preparing a master’s thesis.
- A special feature of this program is the integration of practice into scientific work: candidates must submit a research plan that their academic supervisor at Poltava Polytechnic has previously approved.
- Duration: 3 months (April – June 2026).
- Financial support: a monthly scholarship of 850 EUR and a one-time compensation for travel expenses (360 EUR).
- Language requirements: English at B2/C1 level.
Program participants must consider the following conditions of the host institution:
Accommodation: the host institution (Complutense University of Madrid) DOES NOT provide students with dormitory accommodation, but the university's website has a database of verified housing providers. Approved exchange program participants independently book their accommodation via the link provided above.
Insurance: All selected student participants in the exchange program must arrange medical insurance for the entire duration of their stay in Spain. Insurance costs are not reimbursed. More insurance information is available via the link.
Visa: all student participants in the program must independently apply for a visa at the Embassy of Spain in Ukraine as early as possible (immediately after confirmation of their selection for the program). Expenses related to obtaining a visa are not financed by the Erasmus+ program or any of the HEIs.
How to participate in the competition?
For Master’s students (internship/practice)
Step 1. Contacting the Graduate Department
• The student contacts the graduate department with a request to consider the possibility of participation in the program.
• The department considers the possibility of sending the student for an internship and develops a research plan for the master’s thesis together with the student.
After this, the department prepares two official memos (in accordance with the mobility documents list) and informs the dean’s office of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology, and Pedagogy of the need to issue a transcript (academic performance record).
Students who do not have the required supporting documents (specifically, official departmental memos and an academic performance record from the dean’s office) will not be admitted to the English language test.
Step 2. Preparation of personal documents
The student prepares the following documents:
• CV in English (in PDF format with a photo, no more than 2 pages);
• motivation letter in English (up to 1 page, PDF);
• scanned copy of international passport (1st spread, PDF);
• passport-sized photo (.jpg);
• English language proficiency certificate (if available).
Motivation letters are checked for plagiarism and for AI-generated content. It is not allowed to submit the same letter to multiple mobility programs.
Documents not prepared in accordance with the requirements will not be accepted.
Step 3. Document submission
The package of documents must be submitted simultaneously in electronic and printed form through the graduate department to the International Relations Department (room 213-C).

For reference: in 2025, participants in the Erasmus+ mobility program at Complutense University of Madrid from Poltava Polytechnic included Halyna Talovyria, an Associate Professor in the Department of General Linguistics and Foreign Languages at the University, and Vladlena Demikhina, a master's student in speciality 035, Philology.
