“FEW CHAMPIONSHIPS-2024”: Poltava Polytechnic teacher wins the bronze medal at the European Wado-Kai Karate Championships

Master of Sports of Ukraine in Karate, teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oleksandr Kosiak became a bronze medallist of the 49th European Championship “FEW CHAMPIONSHIPS-2024” in Wado-Kai Karate, which took place in Cyprus.

“FEW CHAMPIONSHIPS-2024”: Poltava Polytechnic teacher wins the bronze medal at the European Wado-Kai Karate Championships

On 26-27 October 2024, the 49th European Wado-Kai Karate Championship “FEW CHAMPIONSHIPS-2024” took place in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Ukrainian national karate team performed well at these competitions, winning a number of honourable awards. As a member of the team, Master of Sports of Ukraine in Karate, teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oleksandr Kosiak demonstrated high physical results.

According to the results of the competition, the Poltava Polytechnic athlete became a bronze medallist of the tournament, winning two bronze medals:

  • men’s kumite in the weight category over 84 kg;
  • 3rd place in team kumite among men.

The athlete’s coach is the head coach of the Ukrainian Deaflympic karate national team, Honoured Coach of Ukraine Mykola Bohodystyi.

Earlier, the teacher of Polytechnic became a gold and bronze medallist of the Ukrainian Karate Championship among adults.

Recently, the university team became the winner of the All-Ukrainian sports billiards competition “Free Pyramid with Continuation”.
