Within the cooperation of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” with Goethe-Institut and the Widergeburt Poltava Association of Germans, the translation students took part in the language project Mit Deutsch auf Tour, which lasted during the academic semester.

While studying the topics Deutschland-Duell and Abenteuer Europa, language assistants from Goethe-Institut Patrick Vosen and Sebastian Lins presented the culture of Germany to the listeners. The philologists could join the discussion about today’s Germany, compete online and find out who is more familiar with the culture of this country.

The students of the Faculty of Humanities of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic Yana Kharchenko and Svitlana Kis participated in the Online Summer German Language School, which lasted for two weeks, from June, 8, to June, 19, 2020.

The participants of the online school learned German with professional teachers and language assistants from Goethe-Institut, Patrick Vosen, Sebastian Lins and Luise Witschel. The classes were held daily from 10 AM to 2 PM in game form using the most modern technologies of education. Students learned more about the history, traditions and customs of the German people.

“Now there is a new tendency in the European education; foreign languages are taught in game form, with interactive educational means. The person learning languages is involved in joined activities and works on their own self-development. We hope that this cooperation will continue next year, and our students will be able to deepen their knowledge of German and learn the culture of German-speaking countries,” Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic Tetiana Kushnirova commented.
