Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko stressed the importance of international cooperation with German colleagues; open and active position of the university in the development of inclusive arts and recreational sports.

“It is a great pleasure to welcome old friends and partners in the walls of Poltava Polytechnic! We are proud of the hands-on cases with which we fill the daily content of the agreement signed in the summer on cooperation in science and education. An important component of our university is active international partnership, so our meeting today will contribute to the further development of new practical experience.

My personal story of success is directly related to Germany – some cases of German universities are actively implemented in Poltava Polytechnic, one of the best universities in the Poltava region and in Ukraine. During my postgraduate studies I spent three months in Germany, whose citizens I appreciate for their punctuality, discipline and responsible attitude towards work. At the university we embody the model that combines order in everything, discipline and cleanliness at the university, which everyone can see for themselves.

The main goal of our joint cooperation with Serhii Andriiovych Chumak and his public organization is to discuss the problems of rehabilitation and promote their quick solution within the framework of the development of the social project “Artsport”. Thank you, that despite the strict quarantine restrictions, such a distinguished delegation from Germany came to talk to our scientists and students, to assess the possibilities of the university. This is a unique opportunity for the university to share best practice and experience in the field of inclusion,” – commented the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

According to the head of the Poltava regional branch of the All-Ukrainian Organization of Disabled People “Union of the Organization of Disabled People of Ukraine” Serhii Chumak, the importance of scientific and educational cooperation with Poltava Polytechnic is difficult to overestimate, and the results of it can be observed daily.

“We are implementing this project together with a new partner - a university of European level, a leader in innovation, which multiplies and develops cultural and artistic traditions – Poltava Polytechnic. Thanks to the full support and assistance of the rector of the university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, we took a number of important steps – planned out our joint activities, exchanged practical cases of working with people with special needs, held a number of scientific and educational events, online seminars with university scientists and specialists-practitioners.

It is worth noting that Poltava Polytechnic is the only higher education institution in the Poltava region that is willing to join our initiatives and has become a research partner in the field of physical rehabilitation, physical therapy and ergotherapy. In addition, the university became a co-organizer of the All-Ukrainian exhibition of inclusive art with international participation “Spirit Strength”, exhibited at the Poltava Art Museum (Art Gallery) named after Mykola Yaroshenko. I hope that the Poltava experience will soon travel to Germany with colleagues, but a part of their heart will definitely remain in the nourished with talent land of Poltava. I wish you fruitful cooperation, pleasant emotions and new unforgettable impressions!” – wished Serhiy Chumak.

Hanni Rossek, the head of the “Union of People with Disabilities” in Mecklenburg, stressed the opportunities for people with disabilities, which open through effective cooperation with Ukrainian partners: “Our public organization has not yet reached such a level and does not have such significant results as our colleagues from Ukraine, but we are ready to learn and share our experiences. Within the framework of the “Artsport” social project, we are doing a good deed together – we are opening an All-Ukrainian exhibition with international participation of inclusive art with the eloquent title “Spirit Strength”, which will be exhibited for two weeks at the Poltava Art Museum (Art Gallery) named after Mykola Yaroshenko. At this powerful artistic location, guests and residents of Poltava will be able to view the works of distinctive Ukrainian and German artists who impress with their colors and desire to convey the beauty and grandeur of nature, their own love for the country where they create. I hope that our experience will be useful to people who continue to work on promoting such initiatives and have the first results. Believe in your own strength, everything will definitely work out!”

The main directions of Poltava Polytechnic’s international cooperation with German partner universities were presented by Svitlana Sivitska, Vice-Rector for Research and International Work. She also stressed openness to cooperation on joint projects and initiatives, strengthening partnerships, youth and academic exchanges.

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Anna Aheicheva and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko described educational programs that provide practical training for physical therapists and ergotherapists, philologists and artists.

The meeting continued with a visit to the Center for Contemporary Art of the University, chiropractic laboratories, ergotherapy and preclinical practice room.
