National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” continues to actively support the international mobility of its students, opening new horizons for their education, development and intercultural communication. Another striking example of this was the participation of one of our talented students, Tetiana Holub, second-year student majoring in International Economic Relations 292, in the Erasmus+ programme “Wear your future”, which took place from 23 April to 2 May 2025 in the picturesque town of Velké Pavlovice, Czech Republic.
Tetiana Holub, a 2nd year student majoring in 292 International Economic Relations, shares her impressions of the training:
“Participation in Erasmus+ programmes is a unique opportunity to travel, study, make new friends and, last but not least, relax your soul. During one of these projects, the “Wear the Future” training in the Czech Republic, I discovered the world of responsible fashion, sustainable consumption and creative approach to clothing.
We, the participants, learned about textile production, the harmful environmental impact of the fashion industry, and the mechanisms of clothing recycling. We participated in practical workshops on repairing clothes, created our own designer prints, and studied the economic aspects of the modern textile market. For me personally, it was a revelation to discover how much pollution is caused by the fashion industry – people buy things, hardly wear them, and then throw them away instead of giving them a second life.
We worked on many creative tasks. One of the most interesting was to create a sketch of clothes that best suits your style and comfort. We also visited another city in the Czech Republic, where we visited the Fashion Project: we watched a documentary about the working conditions of textile workers and then got acquainted with the works of design students from the local university. Some of them were even available for purchase.
Various activities took place every day, from morning to evening. On the third day, we organised a cultural evening, during which each participant had the opportunity to present their country, share interesting facts and treat guests to sweets and drinks from their homeland. I learnt a lot about Serbia, Italy, Latvia and Portugal. In particular, I was impressed to meet a famous Serbian designer who works with artists who represented Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest.
This project gave me not only knowledge, but also invaluable skills: communication skills, self-confidence, overcoming the fear of performing and the language barrier. When communicating with other participants, I spoke English with ease and sincerity – just from the heart, without worrying about how I looked or sounded.
The organisers and coordinators were always there to help us with all our questions and support us throughout our stay. I can say with confidence that this was definitely not my last Erasmus+ training. Such opportunities fill my life with joy, new meanings and perspectives.
I am sincerely grateful to National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for the chance to join such wonderful initiatives, to travel, develop and study in an international environment!”
This intensive training, designed for workers aged 18 and over, focused on the highly relevant topic of fast fashion, its devastating impact on the environment, the principles of the circular economy, European Union legislation in the textile industry, and various forms of fashion activism. The main goal of the project was to equip youth leaders with the necessary knowledge, skills and tools to effectively combat the challenges facing the European fashion and textile industry.

This successful example of participation in international mobility once again emphasises the importance of supporting such initiatives for the comprehensive development of students and strengthening the international relations of our university.
It should be recalled that Tetiana Holub is currently studying for the second semester under the Erasmus+ credit academic mobility programme at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna.
Recently, architecture student Maryna Makukha took part in an Erasmus+ youth exchange in Philadelphia, Italy, became a topic leader in the Erasmus+ youth exchange entitled “The Power of Young Artist”, and a future took part in an Erasmus+ training on conflict transformation.
It should be noted that Poltava Polytechnic teachers can participate in academic mobility programmes and internships, and students of Poltava Polytechnic have the opportunity to study abroad under the grant programmes of credit academic mobility for a semester or a whole academic year at the leading universities of Austria, Greenland, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, and the Czech Republic.
