The National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” in partnership with the Peace Corps Ukraine is proud to offer an exciting new international course on AI-Enhanced Digital and Hybrid Professional Communication, led by the remarkable Maria Petrescu and facilitated by Anna Pavelieva and Alina Kudinova. Meet the Instructor
Maria Petrescu – Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration, College of Business, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Florida, the USA).
Education:
- Ph.D. – Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, Florida Atlantic University
- M.B.A. – Master of Business Administration, Nova Southeastern University
- B.A. – Bachelor of Arts in Communications: Journalism and French, West University of Timisoara
Maria's Areas of Expertise:
Dr. Petrescu's research extensively covers Marketing Analytics, with a strong focus on AI in Marketing and Experiential Immersion Education. Her work explores how AI can be used to detect fake online reviews, optimize e-commerce literature searches, and understand consumer behavior in AI-enhanced retail interactions. She also investigates cross-cultural market segmentation, analyzing the role of technology's emancipative and traditionalist values across different cultures. Other key interests include motivations behind luxury consumption, social responsibility in marketing, digital transformation of communications, ethical aspects of AI, and aviation safety and sustainability. She is dedicated to understanding consumer behavior in the digital age, data-driven decision-making, and the ethical challenges of integrating AI into business communication and marketing.

Recently, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation Yuliia Nikolaenko participated in the Erasmus+ academic mobility program at an Austrian partner university – Burgenland University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Burgenland); Master's student in Architecture and Urban Planning Maryna Makukha participated in Erasmus+ youth exchanges “YouthARTiculate: Voices for Social Change” in Serbia and “STARTArt” in Slovakia; construction student Anton Filonenko shared his impressions of a mobility program in Germany; and international relations student Vladyslava Herashchenko became a participant in the prestigious EU Study Days educational program.
As a reminder, faculty members of Poltava Polytechnic are eligible to participate in academic mobility and internship programs.
