Poltava Polytechnic and the Oil and Gas College Sign Memorandum with the Weatherford Oil and Gas Service Company

On February, 17, Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Onyshchenko, Director of Poltava Oil and Gas College Liubov Shumska, and Director of Weatherford Ukraine Oleksandr Tertychenko signed the Memorandum on Cooperation and Partnership.

Almost 70% of employees of the well-known oil and gas service company Weatherford Ukraine are graduates of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" and Poltava Oil and Gas College. Cooperation with one of the most powerful oil and gas service companies Weatherford means opportunities for constant professional improvement, practical skills acquirement and internships at the company’s facilities for teachers and students of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic".

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Director of Weatherford, graduate of our university Oleksandr Tertychenko presented a powerful 3D printer and strengthened the history of cooperation with university and college by signing the Memorandum.

“An important strategic task for National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” is still close cooperation with business and participation of company representatives in training highly-qualified specialists of the oil and gas field. Stakeholders are actively included to the development of new educational programs, and they welcome our graduates to internships and employment after graduating our university.

We keep realizing the principles of dual education with the Weatherford company - students of Poltava Polytechnic and the Oil and Gas College do internships at the companies’ facilities, and many of them continue their career there. Signing the Memorandum on Partnership and Cooperation is another historic event in the life of Polytechnic that helped determine further priorities in cooperation, which include high-quality training of oil and gas specializations graduates and of the college for their professional start.

Due to the lockdown, we could not invite all our friends and partners to the ceremonies and events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of university, so we are happy to have such a friendly meeting. An incredibly important present for us, a unique powerful 3D printer, on which students will produce their own models and realize their scientific ideas, will considerably update and change the approach to the use of modern technologies in the educational progress.

The key to the successful cooperation is the consolidation of efforts of the company and the university in the field of dual education, according to Director of Weatherford Ukraine Oleksandr Tertychenko. The Memorandum covers holding internships, workshops and training sessions for graduates of the oil and gas specializations of our university and college at the Poltava office of Weatherford Ukraine. The specialists of the company will provide qualified consulting on any issues.

Director of Poltava Oil and Gas College Liubov Shumska talked about the plans for future. “In the business communication with the company, we continue to realize the system of levels of a modern graduate's special education from college to university and to the one of the leading oil and gas companies.”

The new 3D printer Da Vinci Super will improve the university’s educational and scientific facilities. During the spring lockdown, teachers of Education and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management Andrii Koniuk and Kostiantyn Trehubov produced face shields at a 3D printer, which were then fiven to the medical establishments of Poltava from Poltava Polytechnic.

Rector of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko gave the representatives of the company a copy of the book “History of Success of Poltava Polytechnic” and an envelope and post stamp presented by Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet and Director of Ukrposhta at the official events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of university.

“It's a unique thing that will be interesting for collectors in the future. We are glad that the gift will remind you and your colleagues about our university,” Rector mentioned.

According to Oleksandr Tertychenko, Poltava office of the company has an old tradition of a mini-library with interesting modern publications dedicated to the activity of their partners and friends. The presented book will definitely take its place in the library and be a great addition to the corporative collection.
