On 12 December, the University of Indonesia published the results of UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024, where Poltava Polytechnic was ranked 871st among 1477 higher education institutions from 95 countries of the world, where green solutions and innovations are implemented. Among 25 Ukrainian higher education institutions, our university continues to hold the leading position, having been ranked 7th in the ranking.
Since 2017, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” has been annually included in this international ranking, constantly improving its position among Ukrainian universities.
The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is an initiative of the University of Indonesia aimed at assessing universities around the world by the level of their campuses’ environmental friendliness. The ranking takes into account key aspects such as the integration of environmental education into curricula, implementation of energy efficiency projects, policies on rational energy and water consumption, waste storage and recycling, as well as an assessment of green space. The main goal of the ranking is to promote sustainability in education, campus greening, social change, and to disseminate information about sustainability programmes to governments, environmental organisations, and society.
The UI GreenMetric has been recognised as a global university sustainability ranking that raises awareness and changes attitudes towards environmental issues.
Innovative multidisciplinary classical National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” once again proves its aspiration to be a leader among the world’s top-ranked universities. Thanks to the well-coordinated teamwork of the whole staff, Poltava Polytechnic is improving the environmental friendliness of the campus and introducing environmental education into the students’ education.
It should be recalled that Poltava Polytechnic won in the contest nomination “Effective Psychosocial Support Programmes at Work and Their Implementation”.
