Students of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” are actively involved in international educational programmes, in particular, the European Union’s Erasmus+ initiatives. From 29 April to 8 May, 2025, 3rd year student majoring in 035 Philology and 023 Fine Arts, Decorative Arts, Restoration Yelyzaveta Dubynka took part in the youth exchange under the Erasmus+ programme “Unity through Art and Culture” in Zeerijp (Netherlands). Participants from six European countries united around the ideas of intercultural dialogue, inclusion and anti-discrimination through art and non-formal education. For 10 days, young people took part in trainings, creative workshops, cultural evenings and educational excursions, which became a source of inspiration, new acquaintances and personal development.

The girl shared her impressions of the project:

“From 29 April to 8 May 2025, I had a unique opportunity to take part in a youth exchange under the Erasmus+ programme “Unity through Art and Culture”. It was my first short-term exchange programme, which made a deep impression on me and, without exaggeration, changed my life.

For 10 days, we stayed in the north of the Netherlands, in a picturesque area near a small town, where we were able to fully immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of nature and culture of this amazing country. Our location was surrounded by endless tulip fields, which created an extremely inspiring atmosphere. There were a lot of bicycles on site, so we were able to organise traditional Dutch bike rides among the fields and canals.

About 30 participants from six countries took part in the project: Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy. Each team brought a piece of their culture, making the exchange truly intercultural.

The main project objective was to support the idea of unity, inclusion and anti-discrimination through art and culture. Every day we had three to five interactive sessions, during which we explored topics about tolerance, mutual respect and cooperation. An informal approach to learning, role-playing, team tasks and creative workshops helped us to understand each other better and work on ourselves at the same time. Each session was carefully designed and packed with content. Our facilitators demonstrated high professionalism, attention to detail and deep respect for each participant.

A special place in the programme was devoted to intercultural evenings, during which each team presented its country: quizzes, colourful presentations, and tastings of traditional dishes. These evenings gave us a lot of emotions and brought all the participants even closer together.

At the beginning, the days were focused on getting to know each other, creating a friendly atmosphere and building trust. We spent our free time between sessions talking, walking, exchanging opinions and ideas. I met many interesting people who left their mark on my heart. The friendship, support and warm words I received during these days will stay with me for a long time.”
