From April 20 to 24, 2026, a delegation from the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” participated in an Erasmus+ academic mobility program during the ISCAP International Week. The event was hosted by the Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP), a structural unit of the Polytechnic University of Porto (P.PORTO) in Porto, Portugal.

The Poltava Polytechnic was represented by:
1) Alla Bolotnikova – PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of General Linguistics and Foreign Languages;
2) Yuliia Hunchenko – Senior Lecturer at the Department of General Linguistics and Foreign Languages;
3) Yuliia Khudolii – PhD in Economics, Associate Professor at the Department of Finance, Banking Business and Taxation;
4) Anna Cherviak – PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of Finance, Banking Business and Taxation, Acting Scientific Secretary of the Academic Council.

The event began on April 20 with participant registration and an opening ceremony: Alexandra Albuquerque, PhD in Linguistics, Professor at ISCAP-P.PORTO, and Head of the International Office, introduced ISCAP’s activities, followed by a networking session designed to foster professional connections among higher education representatives from various countries.

On April 22, the participants joined the “Research Brainstorm Workshop”, organised by the Centre for Organisational and Social Studies (CEOS.PP). The workshop provided a platform for brainstorming future joint research projects and developing scientific cooperation between the universities.

During the Erasmus+ International Week, the university’s faculty members engaged in international educational interaction by delivering a series of lectures in English to students at the Polytechnic University of Porto. The topics covered include current trends in modern science and education, integrating linguistic, economic, and information technology aspects:
- Alla Bolotnikova: “Technical Terms and the Challenges of Translating Them”;
- Yuliia Hunchenko: “Business Ethics” and “Intercultural Relations in Global Business”;
- Yuliia Khudolii: “The Banking System of Ukraine: Challenges and Prospects”;
- Anna Cherviak: “Digital Information Systems in Management Accounting and Control” and “Information Systems Audit: Assessing Cyber Risks and Their Impact on the Quality of Management Controls”.

Specifically, Alla Bolotnikova focused on the specifics of translating technical terminology and the challenges of interpreting highly specialised concepts, emphasising the need to account for context and industry nuances.
Yuliia Hunchenko explored the key principles of business ethics, highlighting the importance of adhering to ethical standards in the modern corporate environment, and addressed cross-cultural interaction in a globalised business space.
Yuliia Khudolii introduced students to the current state of Ukraine’s banking system, outlining the challenges posed by economic and geopolitical factors and the prospects for its development amid the financial sector’s transformation.
Anna Cherviak highlighted the role of digital information systems in ensuring effective management accounting and control, while providing insights into modern approaches to auditing information systems, with a focus on cyber-risk assessment.
These lectures served as an important platform for knowledge exchange, promoting Ukrainian scientific expertise internationally and deepening academic collaboration.

The delegation’s participation in the ISCAP International Week-2026 was a landmark event for our university, contributing to the expansion of academic mobility, the strengthening of international partnerships, and the formation of new avenues for scientific cooperation.
It is worth noting that the Poltava Polytechnic has a strong history of participation in this event. Previously, our delegation participated in the ISCAP International Week, during which they delivered lectures and contributed to the CEOS.PP workshop, and presented on the challenges facing Ukrainian education during the war. Additionally, in May 2025, representatives from our International Relations Office participated in the Erasmus+ International Staff Week at P.PORTO, focusing on the digitalisation of education, AI implementation, and internationalisation strategies.
We remind all faculty members that they can participate in academic mobility and internship programs. At the same time, students have the opportunity to study abroad via Erasmus+ credit mobility grants for a semester or an academic year at leading universities in Austria, Greenland, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, and the Czech Republic.
