Polytechnic students study the activities of European business brands as part of an academic exchange program at a Romanian university

Students of specialty 076 "Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities" of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Bohdana Kurylo, Alina Yakovlieva, Iryna Hasan, are successfully studying under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program at the partner university "1 DECEMBRIE 1918" University of Alba Iulia (the city of Alba Iulia, Transylvania, Romania). During educational courses, future professionals actively study the activities of European business brands.

International academic mobility is an important component in shaping the individual educational trajectory of student youth in a wide variety of fields. National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" creates comfortable conditions for studying as well as scientific and educational development, comprehensively encouraging future professionals to actively participate in international academic mobility programs and youth exchanges. For the professionally motivated student youth of the Poltava Polytechnic, similar international events are an additional opportunity to improve their professional competencies to the world level and thoroughly expand their own cultural horizons. 

Students of specialty 076 "Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities" of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Bohdana Kurylo (group 201-EP), Alina Yakovlieva (group 201-EP), Iryna Hasan (group 101-EP) together with other university students during the spring semester of 2022-2023 academic year are successfully studying under the long-term academic exchange program at the University "1 DECEMBRIE 1918" University of Alba Iulia (Alba Iulia, Transylvania, Romania). It should be recalled that 15 female Polytechnic students are studying under the Erasmus+ long-term academic exchange program at a Romanian partner university, where they are improving their professional skills, getting to know the local culture and learning the Romanian language.

In particular, as part of studying the professional discipline "European Economy" on the basis of the partner Romanian university, future professionals in the field of entrepreneurship, trade and stock exchange activity visited the production enterprise – the "Phoenix" factory of the Solina Group company. The world-renowned manufacturer has powerful technological divisions around the world, specializes in food products and is a supplier for many well-known brands, including spices for McDonald's.

During the excursion, the young people got acquainted with the organization and management of the production process, HR features, logistics of the factory, the organization of sales and supply of products to counterparties, and the specifics of market interaction. Future professionals will definitely benefit from the knowledge gained in communicating with factory specialists regarding the aspects of various business operations. The participants of the academic mobility program actively share their impressions from interesting practical classes, meaningful leisure time and getting to know the cultural flavor of the country with their peers in social media.

Program coordinator, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Anna Pavelieva once again emphasizes the wide opportunities for the academic staff and students of the leading Ukrainian higher education institutions in terms of exchange of experience and professional development: "The experience of participating in such programs increases the chances of successful employment and good career prospects, as the participants not only study but also work on developing creativity, digital competences, deepening of English language skills, while getting acquainted with the culture of the country where they are going to study. It should be noted that this is the first international academic mobility program implemented in cooperation with the partner university "1 DECEMBRIE 1918" University of Alba Iulia, however, we hope for close cooperation in the future as well."

It should be recalled that the goal of Erasmus+ KA1 international academic mobility programs is the exchange of knowledge, teaching and research methods, as well as work experience in a European and international environment, acquisition and development of communicative and language competencies, development of critical thinking, skills in finding and analyzing solutions to challenges, improving research methods, development of digital and green competences, promotion of personal development.

Despite the full-scale invasion of the russian federation on the territory of our country, the National University "Poltava Polytechnic named after Yury Kondratyuk", as one of the best multidisciplinary classical universities in the country and the flagship of higher education in the Poltava region, continues to create comfortable conditions for the harmonious, comprehensive development of a new generation of scientists, talented student youth, successful, competitive graduates.

It should be recalled that female Polytechnic students are studying under the Erasmus+ academic exchange program at the Bialystok University of Technology, and the university representatives became the first Ukrainians to participate in the academic mobility program in Greenland.

Recently, master's students of the Polytechnic studied the best practices of the EU regarding the implementation of the global Sustainable Development Goals, and philology scientists exchanged experience on introducing innovative technologies in the process of foreign language training of specialists.
