Polytechnic students visit the main camp of the country

Creative and enterprising student youth of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" took an active part in the project "Main Camp of the Country. Kyiv region", aimed at the development of volunteer, leadership, social and informational-educational skills. 115 young leaders spent meaningful leisure time.

Polytechnic students visit the main camp of the country

During August 23-29, 2022, under the patronage of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, an educational event "Main Camp of the Country. Kyiv region" took place, the participants of which were students, schoolchildren, purposeful creative youth from all over Ukraine. During the week, participants attended trainings on media literacy, economy, emergency actions, national-patriotic education, and visited creative and sports master classes.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine was represented by Deputy Minister Maryna Popatenko, who conveyed an official greeting from Minister Vadym Huttsait.

From the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" the participants were: volunteer, student of group 301-BP of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management Oleksa Shchur-Dunets; volunteer, student of group 201-HI of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy Svitlana Levchenko and specialist of the department of culture and student creativity of the Center for work with students and gifted youth of the Poltava Polytechnic Yaroslav Perederii.

"I want even more to work with young people and go for new goals, exchanging experience with others. We had a unique opportunity to learn from successful speakers, choose classes to our liking, and compete for prizes at the Main Camp of the country. Personally, I was part of the "Rocket" team, which won first place. I received a certificate, a medal and a team cup, but the most important thing is that our team was recognized as the most active among the participating teams," – shared the impressions of project participant Yaroslav Perederii. He adds that new useful and interesting acquaintances will certainly come in handy, and participants will soon use new experience in real affairs.

Information and educational trainings as well as seminars were organized for the participants of the camp on the following thematic blocks:

State policy and youth. "What did the war teach us?"

Economy of the country. Impact on youth. Risks and opportunities.

Information warfare and security. Propaganda in the media space as an impact on consciousness.

Volunteering. Youth programs and projects are relevant vectors of development.

Patriotism. Military-patriotic component and national identity. Personal safety.

Sports and culture, as spheres of greatest influence on youth and formation of public opinion.

 

The speakers were ex-ministers, current representatives of relevant ministries, entrepreneurs, deputies, public figures, representatives of youth centers, representatives of departments of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, employees of Employment Centers, military-patriotic organizations, political scientists, journalists, marketers, bloggers, volunteers, champions and prize-winners of the Olympic Games etc. The head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration Oleksii Kuleba, People's Deputy of Ukraine Mariia Mezentseva, deputy head of Kyiv RMA Vitalii Vlasiuk, head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Anton Drobovych shared their own experience in the field of youth policy.

The program was full of sports activities, and the day started with morning exercise. During the week, participants also attended master classes from Olympic champions and prize-winners – in judo from Heorhii Zantarai and Olha Drih, in swimming from Denys Sylantiev, as well as in wushu, Greco-Roman wrestling, fencing, "sport for all", Ukrainian dances, aerial reconnaissance, strongman, knife throwing, mine and explosive safety and weapon handling from representatives of the police and emergency services, a workshop from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Young people also learned how to provide first aid in emergency situations, worked in groups on cases of countering information warfare and toxic relationships, as well as worked in a theater studio. Creative young people attended master classes in candle making, weaving, pottery, making a toy flower, a corn rag doll, beaded bracelets, patriotic coloring of honey cookies, making amulets and beading, embroidery and an exhibition of artistic works.

The participants are full of unforgettable experiences and hope that such camps will become a tradition after the Victory.

It should be recalled that the leaders of the youth movement of the Poltava Region were awarded at the Polytechnic, and the young Poltava residents received citations from the mayor and the Youth Council of the Poltava Territorial Community.
