Practicing media content: young people are invited to improve their digital skills in an educational online course

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Youth Center, with the support of Google Ukraine, are organizing free training as part of the "Digital Skills of Youth: Practicing Media Content" program. Anyone who completes the proposed tasks in the virtual room and successfully passes the final test will receive a certificate of participation. The course starts on February 1, 2023.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Youth Center, with the support of Google Ukraine, are organizing free training as part of the "Digital Skills of Youth: Practicing Media Content" program. The basic training platform for the course is the subject of professional development – the Academy of Digital Development.

If you are interested in making creatives, content for social media and videos, and want to deepen this knowledge, this course is for you. Classes start on February 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.

As part of the proposed course, training will be carried out in a remote format, with participants receiving assignments in secure virtual classrooms in Google Class, where effective feedback is ensured through the support and advice of coaches in private comments. For each topic, a recording of the lecture will be published, additional consultation will be organized through video conferences in Google Meet, during which each participant will have the opportunity to ask questions to the coach live, demonstrate a screen for solving a problem situation.

Duration of the training series: a six-week program that will run from February 1 to March 13, 2023.

Subject to the successful completion of more than 80% of the proposed tasks and passing the final test, participants will receive 60 hours of professional development certificates (2 ECTS credits).

As part of the course, participants will improve their skills in Google Drive, Google Help, YouTube, YouTube Author Academy, YouTube Studio, VN (Video Editor Maker VlogNow), InShot, Canva, Lightroom, Photopea, Google Chrome Extensions, Screenity, Screen Stream over HTTP, Screen Mirroring: LetsView, OBS, app.stageten.tv, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Keep, Google Meet, Google Jamboard.

Requirements for course participants: before starting the course, participants are asked to prepare a registered .gmail email account that will allow them to join the virtual classroom. There are no specific requirements for participants’ knowledge: any user can complete the training.

One can prepare for active participation by following the recommendations on the "Preparation" page.

To receive a certificate, you have to complete 80% of all proposed tasks in the virtual room and successfully pass the final test.

The course will be useful for young people, workers of youth centers and spaces, as well as youth workers.

Previously, the registration of participants for the "Youth-Led Community Peacebuilding" training course in the Republic of Poland is underway, a competition for grants for student youth under the "Scholarship in Ukraine" program and a competition for institutional support of youth NGOs have been announced.
