On August 29, an online discussion of energy professionals “Energy Personnel Strategy: From Education to Market Realities” was held, organized by the Energy Freedom by Energy Club community, which brought together representatives of government structures, central authorities, people’s deputies, representatives of member companies Energy Club and leading industry experts.
The participants, under the moderation of Energy Club Vice President Artem Martyniuk, discussed the issues of ensuring constant renewal and development of personnel potential, overcoming the shortage of professionals, modern requirements for professionals in the energy sector and the implementation of a course on innovation and new technologies in energy, because the Ukrainian energy sector needs restoration and modernization.
The speakers also raised the issue of prospects and trends in the field of HR in the energy sector, the formation of a leaders reserve in the face of fierce competition, the importance of corporate programs for training, motivating and retaining personnel against the background of global challenges, opportunities for partnership with educational institutions and successful cases of cooperation. “We are holding our meeting on the Day of Commemoration of the Defenders of Ukraine and are sincerely grateful to our Armed Forces for the opportunity to carry out the educational process live.
Since 2016, the strategic task of our university has been close and fruitful cooperation with business. The famous “success formula” has been implemented at the Poltava Polytechnic for a long time: “education+science+business+authority = high result”. That is why the university cooperates with leading oil and gas service companies that invest in the development of the laboratory base, since the high-quality training of specialists and personnel for the industry is now extremely relevant for various reasons.
At the beginning of September, the Polytechnic will host the X International Industry Forum, during which the university becomes a large-scale platform for top management of companies to discuss the issues of industry development, where the problem of “personnel shortage” sounds in every second speech. I would like to thank our strategic partners – the Naftogaz group of companies, “UkrGasVydobuvannya”, DTEK Naftogaz, which continue to invest in the modernization of the material and technical base of the university and provide high-quality training of excellent professional personnel.
I invite you to participate in this forum or hold a professional event on the basis of the university in order to discover for yourself a multidisciplinary classical university – Yuri Kondratyuk National University.
We provide training in more than 120 educational programs, a powerful Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas as well as a professional college have been successfully operating in our structure for more than half a century, the competitiveness of whose graduates is known far beyond the borders of the Poltava region.
In this way, we provide a multi-stage system of training specialists, involving such oil and gas industry professionals in the educational process as Ihor Shchurov, Myron Firman. An academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Lukin is also involved in the training of personnel, and the head of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies is a foreign citizen, Professor Branimir Tsvetkovich.
Besides, Poltava Polytechnic is participating in a pilot project on the implementation of dual education, where we are successfully implementing this project together with 44 leading universities of the country. It is nice to see here friends and partners from the Dnipro Polytechnic and the Ivano-Frankivsk University of Oil and Gas, who have their own achievements, an excellent material and technical base, and whose experience will be useful to all professionals of the oil and gas complex of Ukraine.
In today’s difficult conditions, cooperation with stakeholders is of particular importance, and already on September 6 we are opening a new laboratory complex – an interactive drilling site of the Canadian company Kremco, which will contribute to the high-quality training of professionals in the oil and gas complex.
The digital competence of specialists also remains a priority, therefore, with the assistance of Weatherford and Geosynthesis Engineering, a powerful training center of the well-known Apple iMac brand was opened at the university. For the second year in a row, we are recruiting for educational programs on alternative and “green” energy, understanding the problem of staff shortages, promptly responding to challenges and providing the industry with young, professionally trained staff,” – commented the Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
Successful practical cases were also shared with the participants by Valerii Bezus, Vice President of the Energy Club, Adviser to the Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, Oleksandr Aziukovskyi, Ph.D., Professor, Rector of NTU “Dniprovska Polytechnic”, Ivan Lukeria, Director of corporate and regulatory affairs relations “Naftogaz Group”, Roman Borysenko, Acting Director of human capital of “Naftogaz Group”, Oleh Larionov, Commercial Director of PJSC “Donbasenergo”, Ihor Chudyk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Rector of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Ihor Biletskyi, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector of O.M.
