During a meeting of Rector’s Office, Dean of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Anna Aheicheva informed the audience about the results of the successful business trip to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and said that the delegation of Poltava Polytechnic headed by Rector, Doctor of Economics, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko had successfully coped with all the tasks. In the course of the agreements on establishing cooperation, the common mission to bring the leading higher education institutions of Ukraine and Canada closer through joint scientific and practice-oriented events was fulfilled, and a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of joint initiatives was signed.
According to Anna Aheicheva, the Canadian partners are extremely positive about cooperation and highly appreciate the common commitment to effective scientific and educational communication. The partners showed a special interest in the practical training of specialists, which is carried out at the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics, Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic. Accordingly, their IT School will actively join the constructive dialogue in the field of digitalisation by organising academic mobility and exchange programmes for students and teachers of the university.
“One of the main points of our joint agreements is that Canadian experts will give a series of lectures for the students of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of Poltava Polytechnic as well as be able to take students and teachers to trainings and internships. I am convinced that our effective communication will become even more efficient in providing quality higher education and training professionals in different fields,” – told the Head of Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of Poltava Polytechnic.
During the working visit to the Canadian university, a number of agreements were reached, as a result of which teachers and students will acquire new professional competences, the details will be published soon on the official resources of Poltava Polytechnic.
Director of the Department of Educational Process Organisation, Accreditation and Licensing of Poltava Polytechnic Oleh Maksymenko informed that despite the difficult current conditions and challenges, the academic staff of a multidisciplinary classical university successfully fulfils its main mission: taking into account the security situation, the educational process is well established and takes place in an offline format in accordance with the established procedure.
For students studying in online and offline formats, the maximum availability of materials is ensured not only for lectures, but also for practical and laboratory classes. Academic staff of the university systematically work on filling the content components of the offered courses with new visual and textual material. The university has all the necessary facilities to ensure the educational process using e-learning technologies as well as provides access to teaching and learning materials for higher education students in 20 fields of study. Specialised laboratories and modern educational locations are fully used during the educational process.
The heads of separate structural subdivisions of Poltava Polytechnic, Acting Director of Poltava Oil and Gas College Ivan Badula and Acting Director of Myrhorod Vocational College named after Mykola Gogol Viacheslav Lupashko, informed about the educational process conditions and the observance of all necessary safety precautions during the classes. According to them, classes are held live, and each college has the right conditions for learning, comprehensive development of students and professional activities of teachers. To ensure the provision of quality educational services, e-learning systems are in place, and security conditions are provided by specially equipped shelters.
First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Economic Development of Poltava Polytechnic Olena Filonych summed up the results of the university administration meeting, stressing that Poltava Polytechnic as an innovative university creates all the necessary conditions for young people to master their chosen speciality and to contribute to the quick recovery of post-war Ukraine in the nearest future.
Earlier, the working group discussed the new stages of the campus thermal modernisation project, and the representatives of trade union organisations of the Poltava region successfully improved their skills at the Veteran Development Centre of Poltava Polytechnic.
