On 2 October 2024, the All-Ukrainian Forum of Student Self-Government was held in Kyiv, where the national communication platform for students was presented. This event brought together leaders of student organisations, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, public activists and representatives of universities from different regions of Ukraine.
National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was represented at the forum by the fifth year student, Deputy President of Student Parliament Oleksa Shchur-Dunets, who shared important messages from the event.
According to the organisers, the launch of the national communication platform is an important event for student self-government in Ukraine, it will allow students to communicate with each other quickly, share initiatives and projects, get advice from government officials, participate in webinars, trainings and workshops, and keep in touch with international student communities to share knowledge and experience.
The participants of the meeting also had the opportunity to join the training by working in the “World Café” format, where they identified the most pressing challenges faced by student self-government bodies. The participants were divided into teams and worked out possible solutions to these issues in open communication, sharing their own experiences with each other.
This meeting is important for improving the efficiency of student self-government.
The students of Poltava Polytechnic are sincerely grateful to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for supporting student initiatives. For its part, the university always actively promotes the development of an active civil society in order to increase the role of young people in decision-making at all levels.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine noted the significant achievements of students and graduates of the university, champions and prize-winners of Paralympics 2024.
