In today's world of rapid development of construction technologies, an important task is to find reliable sources for obtaining up-to-date information on innovative methods of calculation and design of buildings and edifices. The implementation of the regulatory framework to European construction standards encourages scientists to systematically deepen knowledge and transfer them to future specialists. Leaders of educational activities in the field of construction are the heads of scientific schools of the Department of Building Structures of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Andrii Pavlikov and Serhii Pichuhin.
In the textbook "Stone and reinforced stone structures" academician of the Academy of Construction of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Building Structures, Head of the Scientific School "Research of reinforced concrete and stone structures undergoing complex deformations", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Andrii Pavlikov outlined questions regarding physical and mechanical characteristics of stone and reinforced stone masonry, taking into account the current provisions of Eurocodes; examples of solving the most common problems in the field of construction of structures from this building material.
"The textbook reflects the requirements of modern standards and offers of foreign experience in the design of stone and reinforced stone structures. It shows how to apply the requirements of modern state building codes in specific situations, as well as reflects the similarity and difference in their use compared to previous standards, especially in solving problems. This approach in the presented material of the textbook will significantly facilitate the study and use of state building codes in the practice of modern construction and training of engineering personnel," – said the author of the textbook Andrii Pavlikov.
"Modern problems of reliability in construction" is a textbook of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, academician of the Academy of Construction of Ukraine, head of the scientific school "Reliability of Building Structures", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Serhii Pichuhin and postgraduate student Lina Klochko. The publication is intended for master’s students studying in English. The textbook covers the main sections of the discipline "Modern problems of reliability in construction", namely: the basic concepts of reliability theory, accidents in construction, probabilistic description of the strength of materials and assessment of the reliability of building structures’ elements.
Such an educational course is the only one in higher education institutions of Ukraine. The presentation of the material is based on the normative documents of Ukraine on loads and impacts, ensuring reliability and structural safety, design of steel structures, co-authored by scientist Serhii Pichuhin.
It should be recalled that Polytechnic scientists have been awarded lifelong scholarships of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for outstanding merits in the field of higher education.
Earlier, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technology and Robotics issued a textbook on road transport, and the scientist of the Faculty of Humanities wrote an author's textbook on linguocultural studies.
