Even in today's difficult conditions, students of Poltava Polytechnic continue to actively master quality knowledge, communicate with representatives of leading companies, gain the necessary practical experience from stakeholders, discuss the peculiarities of doing business during the Russian aggression.
Last year, Poltava Polytechnic signed a cooperation agreement with the largest Ukrainian global IT company – SoftServe, under which the company conducts educational and practical activities for students.
The IT industry was one of the top sectors of the Ukrainian economy. In 2021, it brought our country 4% of GDP. In conditions of war, this industry is part of the economic front, remaining the only one working almost in full, moreover, being the export industry. Speaker – the Director of the SoftServe Talent Development Center Viacheslav Laptiev, told future IT specialists about the impact of martial law on employment in the industry, analyzed the main stages of drawing up a working resume, told what should be paid priority attention to.
"Business has focused on volunteering, and the IT industry itself is one of the most flexible and adaptable industries that helps others to transform and become more efficient.
Today in Ukraine we have a huge number of small and large IT companies that need young personnel, but graduates must clearly understand what professional qualities and knowledge they have. We are not saying that studying during professional activities is impossible as our field works on constant updating of knowledge, but there is a certain set of tools that all professionals use. The Eastern European IT market remains a key supplier of IT specialists for the whole world," – noted Viacheslav Laptiev. According to him, students and graduates of IT-specialties of leading universities should not be afraid of difficulties, obstacles that almost everyone had to face in due time.
The webinar was moderated by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies and Systems Kseniia Verhal. She summarized the most popular questions from students – the participants were highly active during communication, and the convenient format of the event allowed participants to get comprehensive answers and useful advice. Of particular interest was the practical part of the webinar on the consideration and analysis of the main stages of writing a resume. Future specialists learned about the basic requirements for its preparation, discussed the criteria with future employers.
Participants received presentation materials and contacts for professional development.
Previously, SoftServe selected teachers for the project "Educational Grants".
