“Specialized educational programs or modules in key areas of potential” competition is announced as part of the Digital Europe program

For scientists, the grant competition “Specialized educational programs or modules in key areas of potential” within the framework of the Digital Europe program has started. One must develop and deliver a 60, 90 or 120 academic credit educational program. The application deadline is January 24, 2023.

“Specialized educational programs or modules in key areas of potential” competition is announced as part of the Digital Europe program

Scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions as well as employees of research institutions are invited to participate in the grant competition “Specialized educational programs or modules in key areas of potential” within the framework of the Digital Europe program.

The competition is held to improve educational programs and increase the number of students who specialize in key areas of potential. Participants must develop and submit a higher education program of 60, 90, or 120 academic credits.

Topics offered include: data; Internet of Things (IoT); artificial intelligence (AI); blockchain; cyber security; high performance computing (HPC); quantum theory as well as interdisciplinary courses including teaching of specified fields in non-ICT education (e.g., AI applications for agriculture or cyber security and law, etc.).

The following activities are financed:

  • partnership for higher education institutions, research centers/centers of excellence in the field of digital technologies and innovative business;
  • upgrading technical equipment to ensure students have access to the latest technologies available on the market, researching innovative ways of using technology in teaching and learning;
  • overcoming the shortage of teaching staff and ensuring access to quality education; incentives can be provided for professors, experts and leading researchers in digital fields to contribute to teaching;
  • providing support to students through scholarships or fee waivers to give everyone access to high-quality education in digital fields and to increase the diversity of education and research.

Total budget: €56,000,000.

The application deadline is January 24, 2023.

It should be recalled that registration for a series of online workshops for scientists and entrepreneurs is underway, a competition for the best monographs of young scientists has been announced, young students are invited to the online training of the “Active Citizens” program, the online platform for virtual laboratories “Labster” opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian scientists, and scientists will have access to the laboratories of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
