On September 8-12, 2022, the Canoeing and Kayaking Championships of Ukraine were held in Uman. The participants of intense sports confrontations were determined professionally trained athletes who demonstrated bright individual performances, coordinated teamwork and excellent results of persistent daily training. In total, 177 strongest athletes from 18 regions of Ukraine took part in the competition, including: 4 Honored Masters of Sports of Ukraine, 18 Masters of Sports of International Class of Ukraine and 113 Masters of Sports of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that one of the priorities of the national championship was the selection of participants for the National Team of Ukraine in 2023.
Athletes performed in the following sports:
- Single canoe 200 m
- Women’s double canoe 500 m
- Canoe four mixed 500 m
- Canoe four women 500 and 200 m
- Canoe double mixed 500 m (two people)
- Canoe double mixed 200 m (two people)
- Canoe four mixed 200 m
Men competed at distances of 200, 500 and 1000 meters in all types of the program (K1, K2, K4, C1, C2, C4), women – in K1, K2 and C1 (K – kayak, C – canoe). Women competed in fours and canoe doubles at distances of 200 and 500 meters. The winners of the competitions in the mixed categories – doubles and fours in both types of the program at distances of 200 and 500 meters were also determined.
Student Sevilia Ibadova became the owner of a full set of awards of the Canoeing and Kayaking Championships of Ukraine.
The athlete won gold awards at the following distances:
- Women’s double canoe 500 m;
- Canoe four women 200 m;
- Canoe four women 500 m.
Silver awards at distances:
- Canoe four mixed 500 m;
- Canoe double mixed 200 m.
Bronze award at the distance:
- Single canoe 200 m.
Student Taras Lytvynenko performed in a duet with a fellow student, winning gold, silver and bronze at the following distances:
- Canoe four mixed 500 m;
- Canoe double mixed 200 m;
- Canoe double mixed 500 m.
The winners and prize-winners of the Canoeing and Kayaking Championships of Ukraine were awarded medals by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

Recently, a Polytechnic athlete became a bronze medalist of the Dragon Boat World Championships, a student of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas became the world champion in powerlifting among junior girls, three university students were awarded sports titles, and the rector’s social activities were recognized.
