As part of the implementation of the “SoftServe partnership with Universities” program, the university’s partner – the company SoftServe, conducts various activities for students of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, aimed at improving the quality of education in accordance with the current needs of business and the real work process.
On October 20, 2023, bachelors and masters of the Poltava Polytechnic majoring in “Computer Science”, “Computer Engineering”, “Electronic Communications and Radio Engineering” visited the Poltava office of the SoftServe company, which was recently opened in connection with the relocation of the company from Kharkiv.
In addition to a tour of the office and an introduction to the company’s co-working space, which is designed for 40 people, the students were told about employment and career growth prospects, were told in detail about passing an interview, the features of competent CV formation, as well as the necessary soft and hard skills.
The students noted that thanks to the developed material and technical base of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the computer laboratories of the university do not differ from the workplaces of IT specialists of the leading IT companies of Ukraine.
On October 26, the manager of the talent development centre at SoftServe IT company Viacheslav Laptiev held a guest online lecture for Polytechnic students on the topic “Who is the ideal candidate in IT”. In a lively discussion using modern interactive tools, the students were able to understand what requirements apply to a candidate in the IT field, how the company chooses its employees, by what criteria, what it pays attention to during interviews.
Earlier, a representative of the NIX IT team gave a lecture to the students about the advantages of the Python programming language.
It should be recalled that students and teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics held an online meeting with a representative of the SoftServe company.
