Trainings to be held for Polytechnic scientists within the framework of the “Bologna Hub Peer Support II” project from DAAD

On 25 March and 3 April, 2024, experts of the “Bologna Hub Peer Support II” advisory project, coordinated by the National Agency for University Cooperation Erasmus+ at DAAD, will conduct trainings for academic staff of Poltava Polytechnic on the development and modernisation of educational programmes, innovative teaching methods, internationalisation and academic mobility.

Trainings to be held for Polytechnic scientists within the framework of the “Bologna Hub Peer Support II” project from DAAD

On March, 25 and 27, 2024, in order to integrate the European Higher Education Area, the experts of the advisory project “Bologna Hub Peer Support II”, coordinated by the National Agency for University Cooperation Erasmus+ at DAAD, will conduct trainings for the academic staff of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. The trainings will focus on the development and modernisation of educational programmes, innovative teaching methods, internationalisation and academic mobility, recognition of non-formal and informal learning outcomes, improving the quality of the educational process and cooperation with stakeholders, creating a three-level structure of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies, cross-border recognition of academic achievements and degrees, and implementing quality assurance measures based on common standards and guidelines. The acquired knowledge and skills will be useful in preparing for the accreditation of educational programmes.

The first training will be held on 25 March 2024 at 16:00-19:00 and will focus on the development and improvement of educational programmes using practical examples.

The second training will take place on 3 April 2024 at 08:00-11:00 and will be dedicated to ensuring the quality of higher education, academic mobility and internationalisation.

In the summer of 2023, Poltava Polytechnic was selected from among hundreds of the world’s leading universities that applied for the “Bologna Hub Peer Support II” project. The university became one of 33 higher education institutions from different EU countries that will implement the key instruments and provisions of the Bologna Process with the support of EU experts. As part of the project, subject matter experts provide professional advice to participating universities on the Bologna Process.

The first trainings within the project took place on July 10-11, 2023 and were attended by 47 heads of departments and guarantors of educational programmes of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. After the successful implementation of the first stage of the project, Poltava Polytechnic became one of 2 EU universities selected to take part in an interview about the experience of participating in this project, and in March, 2024, a representative of our university together with the experts from DAAD took part in the recording of a podcast about the project.

More about the experts who will be advising the academic staff of Poltava Polytechnic:

Dr. Hanne Smidt Södergård is the first advisor of the European University Association, director of Sodergard Consulting, first advisor of the University of the West, author of the research on trends and observations on the implementation of the Bologna Process and the EHEA; expert on higher education reform. She has more than 30 years of experience working in universities at national and European levels, and advises on the implementation of the EHEA with a focus on learning and teaching, lifelong learning, widening participation, EQF and quality assurance, innovative learning and teaching formats, including work-integrated learning (WIL);

Professor Irma Grdzelidze is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogical Sciences of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Head of the Quality Assurance Service of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (2018-2023), Director of the Department of Strategic Development and International Accreditation; Member of the Committee of the Eurasian Association of Higher Education Researchers, expert on higher education reform in Erasmus+, EACEA (2015-2021), expert on accreditation and authorisation of higher and vocational education at the National Centre for Quality Improvement of Education of Georgia in 2014-2019.

Participation in the trainings is free of charge.

Directors of institutes, deans of faculties, heads of departments, guarantors of educational programmes as well as all interested academic staff and employees of structural subdivisions of Poltava Polytechnic are invited to participate.

The language of the event is English.

It should be recalled that “Bologna Hub Peer Support II (2022-2024)” project is implemented by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD, the European Students’ Union (ESU), the European University Association (EUA), the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities, the Ministry of Education and Youth of Albania, and the German Accreditation Council (Akkreditierungsrat). The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Earlier, Poltava Polytechnic joined the European University Association (EUA), Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work presented the university at the General Assembly of the European University Association (EUA), and the innovative as well as scientific and educational activities of Poltava Polytechnic were presented at the EAIE-2022 conference and exhibition in Barcelona.

Currently, a competition is open for students to participate in a credit academic mobility programme at University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Austria.
