University scientists hold a master class on writing grant applications, sharing stories of successful participation in Erasmus+ projects

The master class “Preparing grant applications and managing grant projects” was held at the National University, the speakers of which were scientists of the Poltava Polytechnic Kseniia Chychulina, Anna Pavelieva and Nataliia Maksiuta. The participants of the scientific and educational event received a set of necessary practical cases and motivational advice on how to correctly prepare a grant application and participate in the implementation of successful grant projects.

On May 24, 2023, as part of the All-Ukrainian Science Festival and the celebration of Europe Days in Ukraine, a master class “Preparing grant applications and managing grant projects” was held on the basis of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, active participants of which were young scientists and scientific teaching staff of various structural subdivisions of Poltava Polytechnic. During the event, the partakers discussed the basic principles of preparing grant applications, learned how to conduct an up-to-date search for resources for participation in various types of grants.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of the Poltava Polytechnic, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olena Stepova opened the scientific and educational event, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of such professionally oriented events to improve the qualifications and develop the competences of young scientists as well as experienced scientists of the university.

Motivational advice and practical cases on choosing effective tools for writing grant applications were shared by key speakers: Kseniia Chychulina – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing of Poltava Polytechnic; Anna Pavelieva – Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of Poltava Polytechnic; Nataliia Maksiuta – Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Support of the Educational Process of the Poltava Polytechnic. The speakers' reports and the participants' work were moderated by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing Kseniia Chychulina.

Experienced scientists of the Poltava Polytechnic shared their own stories of successful participation in Erasmus+ programmes and expressed the hope that the advice and effective life hacks provided by them will help their colleagues to participate in cool grant projects.

Effective cases in the field of grant activity were presented by project manager for international mobility for organizations (KA1) and Erasmus Mundus Ivanna Atamanchuk, who welcomed the participants and spoke about the priority areas of her own professional activity.

The audience was particularly interested in the speech of Candidate of Philological Sciences, Assistant Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of the Poltava Polytechnic Anna Pavelieva, who spoke about the procedure for preparing a project application in the direction of Jean Monet. University scientists analysed what they heard, asked questions and received competent answers from the speakers.

At the end of the master class “Preparing grant applications and managing grant projects”, Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Support of the Educational Process of the Poltava Polytechnic Nataliia Maksiuta shared warm memories and the story of her own success during participation in various Erasmus+ projects.

Previously, a scientist from the partner University of London shared effective professional cases with young people and teachers of the Polytechnic, master’s students and a teacher of the Polytechnic improved their skills in building a strategy for the activity of STEM – educational institutions, and young Polytechnic scientists exchanged scientific and educational cases together with experiences in a wide variety of fields.
