In accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine No. 37 of February, 3, 2021, “On awarding the prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine to the young scientists and students for the best research in accordance with the results of the competition in 2020”, the Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was awarded to PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology Department of Education and Research Institute of Oil and Gas at National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oleksandr Petrash for the study titled “Normative Regulations of Equipment Modernization in the Oil and Gas Industry of Ukraine”.
The scientist paper substantiated the need to create a national standard that would regulate the norms of time, materials and payments for workers in drilling wells for oil and gas in Ukraine. The scientist held a calculative experiment using the parameters of a real exploration well.

Last year, Oleksandr Petrash presented the experience of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” in solving problems and facing challenges in the field of introducing the English languages into the higher education field at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In particular, he talked about the experience of teaching technical subjects to foreign engineering students.
At the beginning of March, President of NAS of Ukraine Anarolii Zahorodnii awarded the young scientists of Polytechnic at the jubilee ceremony for the laureates of the Award of the President of Ukraine for young scientists. Poltava Polytechnic and the National Academy of Sciences also updated the agreement on educational and scientific cooperation.
