Short Description of the Program
The purpose of the program is to train specialists in the field of translation and translation studies, which involves development of the translator’s professional competence for ensuring the process of interlingual and intercultural communication in various spheres of economics, science, technology, education, culture, by means of translating or interpreting different texts from foreign languages, in particular English and German, into the state language and vice versa, as well as the preparation for conducting individual research in the sphere of philology, in particular, in the field of translation studies.
Implementation of the program presupposes formation of professional linguistic knowledge in the history of translation, theoretical foundations of linguistics and translation studies, main processes of language phenomena development; enhancement of foreign language communication and translation skills.
Training masters of philology by the program is carried out at a high level, which will provide them with the opportunity to study philology programs of the next scientific level of higher education, which, in turn, corresponds to the ninth qualification level of the National Qualifications Framework, with further awarding the next higher education degree – Doctor of Philosophy.
