Short Description of the Program

Students develop skills of building structures and buildings design and construction, engineering status operation, inspection, estimation, development of measures for their reparation, reconstruction and thermal modernization, intelligent design of new urbanized areas and reconstruction of existing ones, operation and maintenance of urban regions. The energy audit and energy efficiency basement are studied.

Students study to use regulatory literature, to determine buildings, constructions and building structures engineering status, to run the calculations of new building structures and of those, which are heightened, to develop constructions thermal modernization projects, to draw up energy performance certificate of building structures, to perform drawings in accordance with valid regulatory requirements. Considerable attention is paid to BIM technologies utilization in designing building structures and constructions of urban development.

Program Benefits

• Graduates of the education program “Urban Development and Households” acquire skills and knowledge required to operation and management of housing and municipal services of the cluster. There are laboratory facilities for conducting practical researches of factors, which influence the urban environment condition with the results subsequent implementation.

Possibilities for studying and training abroad

Students of the education program “Urban Development and Households” are regular participants at the school of urban planning which is conducted in Ukrainian institutions of higher education with the support of Eberhard Schöck Foundation.

Students have an opportunity to study under the programs of Erasmus+, DAAD in Technische Hochschule Lübeck - University of Applied Sciences (Lübeck, Germany).

There is a joint master program in the “Construction” specialization with Białystok Polytechnic (Białystok, Poland).

Positions that graduates can hold

Master degree training has as its starting point mainly on scientific-research and teaching activities but students can perform duties of building owner, project designer and designer in organizations of different forms of incorporation. Graduates of “Urban Development and Households” education program successfully work in departments of architecture, construction, management of housing and municipal services of сity executive panels; district and regional councils, administrations and territorial communities, in holding companies and housing cooperation (OSBB).
