On May 31, 2023, students of groups IP- IF-32 and OH-34 of the Communal Institution “Poltava City Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 1 named after I. P. Kotliarevskyi” toured the educational and scientific locations of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” on an educational visit.

Teachers and lyceum students got acquainted in detail with the thematic expositions of the People’s Museum of University History of Nadiia Kocherha, learning a lot of interesting facts from the life of one of the best privileged educational institutions of the 19th century – the Poltava Institute of Noble Girls. The museum exhibition impressed the visitors with the variety of presented photos, personal belongings of people who are connected with their lives and professional activities to one of the best multidisciplinary classical universities of our country – National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, rare publications, presented diploma projects and creative works of university graduates.

The literary and artistic performance by the students of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy Olha Lupai (group 401-HF), Tetiana Riabiko (group 101-FO), Svitlana Levchenko (group 201-HI) and Yelyzaveta Poliakova (group 201-HI), who very harmoniously got used to the role of pupils of the Institute of Noble Girls and accompanied the guests to cozy university locations, aroused special interest among schoolchildren.

The mini-play presented by the students’ theater of the Poltava Polytechnic recreated one of the episodes from the life of the Hulak-Artemovskyi family, whose five daughters studied and were brought up here in Poltava. The recitation of the letter to his daughters written by the author of the famous fable “Pan ta Sobaka (Master and Dog)” charmed the listeners with the melodiousness of the French language, the mastery of poetic translation, and the poem “Lorelei” performed in German demonstrated the versatility of opportunities for learning foreign languages created at the Poltava Polytechnic.

While familiarizing themselves with the exposition dedicated to the life and scientific activity of the outstanding Poltava scientist-inventor Yurii Vasylovych Kondratiuk (Olexandr Sharhei), the lyceum students, together with their mentors – class teachers Svitlana Medviedieva and Myroslava Boichuk, analyzed historical facts related to the calculations of the world-famous “Lunar orbit rendezvous (Kondratiuk route)”, listening enthusiastically to the story of a brilliant scientist whose thoughts and aspirations were far ahead of his time. At the end, the most active and attentive participants received small incentive prizes.

“We express our sincere gratitude to the entire team of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for the opportunity given to get acquainted with one of the best multidisciplinary classical universities, for comprehensive support and assistance in the education of the future intellectual elite of our country!

During the acquaintance with the university, we learned a lot of new facts from the life of the former Institute of Noble Girls, a number of details about the life of the outstanding Poltava native Yurii Kondratiuk, whose famous formula for calculating the trajectory of a man’s flight to the moon is well known in the European scientific world.

We spent the day usefully and meaningfully, literally falling in love with the modernized university locations, where the spirits of antiquity and modernity are so harmoniously combined. Undoubtedly, we will come to the university again, as young people want to see a lot of new and interesting things in this, I would say without exaggeration, modern higher education institution.

I am glad that despite the war, we can open up new opportunities for our youth, for which there is no need to leave their own country,” – commented the class leader of the OH-34 group of the Communal Institution “Poltava City Multidisciplinary Lyceum named after I. P. Kotliarevskyi” Myroslava Boichuk.

After visiting the museum exhibition, the lyceum students went on a campus tour of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

Earlier, students of professional colleges got acquainted with the scientific and educational possibilities of the university, and Poltava lyceum students visited the university museum and practiced mathematical erudition while solving non-standard problems.
