Representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine visited the Poltava Polytechnic for this solemn event – colonel, Deputy Military Commissar of the Poltava Regional Territorial Center for Equipment and Social Support Eduard Borodai, lieutenant colonel, deputy commander of the military unit Petro Gots, and university graduate Andrii Postavnyi.

“I congratulate everyone on the Education Worker’s Day! It is very nice that in such a difficult time for the state, all of you found the opportunity to resume the educational process. Continue to pass on your knowledge to students and disciples, as they will have to rebuild our country after the war.

Today, everyone has their own front – someone defends our country with a weapon in hand, someone is engaged in volunteering, someone provides courier assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Poltava Polytechnic is successfully resisting military aggression in its own area. I wish you success in this!” – wished the university staff Eduard Borodai.

On behalf of the military unit participating in the hostilities, Colonel Eduard Borodai expressed his gratitude to the rector and the university staff for providing scientific and technical assistance to increase the combat readiness of their unit, and handed a letter of gratitude to the rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko as well as a Citation to the staff of the Poltava Polytechnic.

In turn, the rector of the university Volodymyr Onyshchenko awarded the scientific and pedagogical staff of the university (represented by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Building Structures Serhii Zhyhilii), who contributed to the improvement of the level of combat forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with their innovative developments. A team of scientists helped turn a self-propelled installation into a powerful, mobile artillery installation that successfully passed the test.

The scientist was awarded an Honorable Diploma of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for effective work and significant personal contribution to the development of territorial defense and integrity of our state, conscientious work, active citizenship and patriotism.

“Our graduates, who are now at the front, when the need arose, did not particularly think about who to turn to. They turned to us with the confidence that this institution will help them. Of course, this is the result of our joint work, and I think that it will manifest itself more than once in the future,” – commented Serhii Zhyhilii.

The deputy commander, lieutenant colonel Petro Gots, on behalf of the defenders from the airborne assault troops and personally, also expressed his wishes to the academic workers of the university.

“Our gratitude cannot be expressed so easily in words. Your comprehensive help gives us confidence in our victory. It brings our victory closer. It is delightful that your powerful university does not stop and continues to achieve success in the training of specialists and professionals. Keep it up!” – said Petro Gots.

The lieutenant colonel presented Volodymyr Onyshchenko with a Citation, a coin and a plaquette of the airborne assault troops’ unit, and also expressed his gratitude to the Polytechnic volunteers for providing assistance to the military unit.

“Since the first days of the war, I have never once heard from you, ‘we can’t’. We needed spare parts for equipment – you found them. A disguise was needed – you found it as well. Neither you, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, nor the Volunteer Headquarters have ever refused us. The administrative and economic part welded blocking elements for roadblocks, students and teachers went with us to the organization of the circular defense of the city of Poltava. Your team is a huge family that joined this war from the first days and continues to support us every day,” – thanked the university graduate and now a military man Andrii Postavnyi.

As a sign of gratitude to the Poltava Polytechnic, Andrii Postavnyi presented the unit’s flag to the representatives of the university’s Volunteer Headquarters.

It should be recalled that on the occasion of the Education Worker’s Day, the rector awarded Poltava Polytechnic employees for their achievements.

Earlier, instead of a traditional party for freshmen, the Volunteer Headquarters of the Poltava Polytechnic organized a charity concert to raise funds for an SUV for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (35,000 hryvnias were collected in one hour), and in the summer, Poltava Polytechnic students collected funds for a thermal imager for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in one evening.
