Economists discuss innovative mechanisms of sustainable economic development in conditions of exogenous challenges

On November 3, 2022, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Management and Logistics of the Poltava Polytechnic held the IX International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Modern Innovation and Investment Mechanisms for the Development of the National Economy in the Conditions of European Integration”, dedicated to innovative mechanisms in the conditions of exogenous challenges and management technologies for the sustainable development of the economy.

Economists discuss innovative mechanisms of sustainable economic development in conditions of exogenous challenges

On the basis of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the IX International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Modern Innovation and Investment Mechanisms for the Development of the National Economy in the Conditions of European Integration” was held by the lecturers of the Department of Management and Logistics at Poltava Polytechnic. Scientists from leading Ukrainian and foreign universities, experts-practitioners and all those, whose scientific interests relate to the study and research of globalization economic processes, joined the active discussion and scientific debates around the current issues of modern European integration processes, innovative mechanisms of the development of the national economy, the introduction of sustainable economic development management technologies under the conditions of digitalization and information technologies in higher education. Due to the martial law and active hostilities on the territory of our country, a large-scale scientific event with the participation of domestic and foreign partners of the university was held in a mixed format.

Interesting scientific reports were presented by scientists from leading institutions of higher education in Ukraine, the United States of America, Brazil, Poland, Moldova, representatives of domestic businesses and organizations, young scientists, PhD students, and young students of higher education institutions who are already taking confident steps in science. Within the framework of the conference, 129 participants – 18 Doctors of Science, 33 Candidates of Science, 9 post-graduate students and 69 students – shared their own vision of solving the problems of the development of the national economy in difficult modern conditions.

The work of the conference was opened by the Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Vadym Vadimov, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Deputy Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of the Poltava Polytechnic Iryna Krekoten, and Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Economic Cybernetics, Honored Economist of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Management and Logistics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Hryshko, who noted the scale and relevance of this scientific and educational event in difficult modern conditions.

“Despite active hostilities on the territory of our state, scientists from leading Ukrainian and foreign partner universities continue to work for the benefit of the European economy. Academic science dynamically moves forward with the joint efforts of scientists, whose findings are actively implemented in the national economy sector. Numerous large-scale scientific and practical conferences on the basis of the Poltava Polytechnic are a vivid example of achieving a synergistic effect in the field of science, education and business, and our achievements will be a positive motivation for a new generation of young scientists who already from the university audience rooms strive to work effectively for the benefit of their native people. The plenary session was moderated by Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Economic Cybernetics, Honored Economist of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Management and Logistics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Hryshko.

The participants of the conference worked in the following directions:

  • Innovations in conditions of extreme exogenous challenges and the task of sustainable development of Ukraine in the European coordinate system;
  • Innovative management technologies for the sustainable development of the economy in conditions of digitalization;
  • Innovative and information technologies in higher education: modern realities and prospects in the conditions of martial law.

Olha Komelina, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor (University of Passau, Germany), Boris Litvin, Principal Solution Architect, Amazon Web Services (New York, USA), and Sas N., Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, invited international researcher of the 1st category of the Federal Institute of Paraná (Curitiba, Brazil), shared their own experiences.

At the plenary session of the conference, meaningful scientific reports were also presented by V. P. Serhiienko, Ph.D., Professor, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Retraining, Advanced Qualification and Pre-University Training, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine and O.V. Shevchenko, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor of Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University.

After the plenary session, the conference participants worked in three sections: “Innovations in conditions of extreme exogenous challenges and the task of sustainable development of Ukraine in the European coordinate system”, “Innovative technologies of management of the economy sustainable development in conditions of digitalization”, “Innovative and information technologies in higher education: modern realities and prospects in the conditions of martial law”, where they actively discussed presented reports, exchanged the results of scientific researches, interesting ideas, practical experience, and determined current priorities of economic development during martial law.

Summarizing the results of the conference, scientists and practitioners from different parts of the world agreed on further scientific and educational cooperation in the field of joint scientific publications and projects implementation. According to the results of the conference, the scientific papers of the participants will be published in the scientific specialist bulletin “Economy and the Region” (specialist publication) of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, which is included in the scientific international database Index Copernicus.

It should be recalled that last year, economists discussed the peculiarities of the development of the national economy in the conditions of European integration, and scientists and financiers discussed the development of the financial market of Ukraine in the conditions of modern globalization changes.

Earlier, philology scientists discussed effective cases of foreign language training of specialists.
