#ErasmusDays 2022: Polytechnic scientists present success stories of participation in projects

ErasmusDays-2022 are being celebrated at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. Scientists and students of the Polytechnic shared their success stories and achievements – they presented the educational course “Reforming the environmental, energy, economic and financial spheres of Ukraine in the context of European integration”, the experience of participating in Erasmus+ programmes, discussed the features of the development of the creative and “green” economy.

From October 13 to 15 this year, #ErasmusDays are taking place all over Europe and the world, in particular in Ukraine. During three days, the Erasmus+ community shares success stories and achieved results of projects in the education, youth and sports fields.

“It is important to also share the experience of Erasmus+ participation during the war and remind the international community about today’s events in Ukraine, emphasizing the significant contribution of the participation of Ukraine and its citizens in the EU Erasmus+ Programme,” notes the team of the National Erasmus+ office in Ukraine, who together with the EU Representation in Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Erasmus+ Youth Information Center and the European Solidarity Corps, Erasmus Students Network, Erasmus Mundus Alumni and Eurodesk organizes #ErasmusDays.

On October 13, within the framework of #ErasmusDays 2022, scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” held a webinar dedicated to discussing the most pressing issues in the field of creative economy, financial development of our country in the conditions of European integration, socio-economic recovery of Ukraine in cooperation with the European Union and the United States America. About 100 participants who are interested in the development of environmental, financial and economic spheres of Ukraine in cooperation with international partners joined the online event.

Poltava Polytechnic scientists presented the educational module “Reforming the environmental, energy, economic and financial spheres of Ukraine in the conditions of European integration”, carried out as part of the implementation of the Jean Monnet Erasmus+ project. It should be recalled that the university’s female scientists’ module was included in the winning projects recommended for financing by the European Union.

The head of the project, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing Kseniia Chychulina, project participants – Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Support of the Educational Process Nataliia Maksiuta and Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation Vitaliia Skryl presented the authors’ module and shared their own developments in the field of environmental, energy, economic and financial spheres of Ukraine in the conditions of European integration.

Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing Inna Miniailenko acted as the coordinator of the project from the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. The discussion was moderated by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing Kseniia Chychulina.

The purpose of the educational module of the Jean Monnet Erasmus+ project “Reforming the environmental, energy, economic and financial spheres of Ukraine in the conditions of European integration” is to familiarize bachelor’s students of the specialties “Ecology”, “Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activity”, “Finance, Banking and Insurance” of Poltava Polytechnic with modern European guidelines for the comprehensive development of the ecological, energy, economic and financial spheres of our country. The course involves a comprehensive study of the best European practices of the European Union’s environmental policy on the basis of Programs of changes in the field of environmental protection and Environmental Directives, European approaches to energy saving and European practices of innovative development of the economic and financial system. The compliance of the project with the set goal will be characterized by a training course for specialists of various specialties and its inclusion in the bachelor’s program.

According to the scientists, the course focuses on the expansion and application in Ukraine of the principles of smart specialization for reforming its environmental, energy, economic and financial spheres, which will be achieved through an interdisciplinary approach to the implementation of reforms, case studies as well as cooperation with the government, business and professionals of non-governmental organizations. The course will improve the practical skills of university graduates in building interaction between the community, government and business, taking into account modern challenges.

“The educational module, that we developed, will allow students of the specialties “Ecology”, “Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activity”, “Finance, Banking and Insurance” of Poltava Polytechnic and other leading Ukrainian universities to learn how to apply European methods of developing strategies in the environmental, energy and economic as well as financial spheres of Ukraine, master the skills of communication with various target groups, leadership, teamwork based on the model of European cooperation, identify a public, socially responsible and entrepreneurial initiative, make others active participants in solving common issues of reforming the environmental, energy and economic as well as financial spheres of Ukraine. The educational course is based on the results of the authors’ research in the above-mentioned field, adaptation of the best European experience in the development of programs and projects, organization, experience in conducting and moderating conferences and debates with the participation of various professional groups.

Based on the results of the project, it is envisaged to publish monographs, manuals, scientific articles, conference materials, conduct events for the dissemination of project results at the All-Ukrainian and international levels, create an online educational platform, as well as cooperate with local authorities and businesses. The course will be mastered by students of the first level of higher education, majoring in 101 “Ecology”, 076 “Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activity”, 072 “Finance, Banking and Insurance”.

Successful implementation of this project costs 30,000 euros, financed by the European Union. In our firm belief, the training of such highly qualified specialists will significantly strengthen the leading position of our university among other leading Ukrainian and European higher education institutions,” – commented the project manager, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Kseniia Chychulina.

Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law have prepared thorough thematic studies, analyzing the state of reform of individual economic sectors, digital integration of the financial industry, modern innovative trends in the European green economy. In particular, Mariia Horbunova (“Roadmap of the European Green Deal: reforms and adaptation course for Ukraine”), Nataliia Chornovol (“Implementation of EU sustainable development goals in the economy of Ukraine”), Anastasiia Putria (“Development of the creative economy: Ukraine’s cooperation with EU”), Anastasiia Tkachenko (“Modern innovative trends of transformational changes in the European green economy: challenges for Ukraine”), Yaroslav Bura (“Development of the financial sphere of Ukraine in the conditions of European integration”) and Valeriia Tuz (“Digital integration of the financial industry of Ukraine in the EU”) shared their own scientific findings.

Doctor of Philosophy, Head of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Support of the Educational Process of Poltava Polytechnic, laureate of the “Renewable Energy Award” Nataliia Maksiuta shared hers successful professional cases and practical experience as a participant in the Erasmus+ programmes. The scientist also presented the participation stories of students and teachers of the university and the Poltava College of Oil and Gas in several international projects – it is difficult to overestimate such a positive experience in the lives of young students and graduates of the university.

Ample opportunities for educational and professional growth for student youth, the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme for students of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” were presented by Yuliia Solovei, a specialist in the sector of work with grant-making organizations of the university’s Department of International Relations. She spoke about the prospects for students’ studies in leading European partner universities.

I would like to invite my colleagues and active student youth to take part in the scientific and practical conference, which will be held in November at the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing of the Poltava Polytechnic. Take advantage of a real chance to present your own experience and achievements in the financial and economic sphere!” – noted Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing Kseniia Chychulina. According to the scientist, such scientific meetings are necessary for young people to realize the role of their professional knowledge in modern European integration processes.

It should be recalled that university and college teachers and students took part in the Erasmus+ project in Turkey, a philology student became a participant in a youth exchange project dedicated to social stereotypes, a Polytechnic teacher joined the Erasmus+ project “Speak Up, we are Listening”, future translators exchanged volunteering experience with participants of the Erasmus+ programme, a philology student took part in the Erasmus+ youth exchange “No climate, No future”, students presented their own eco-education in a project dedicated to the development of environmental awareness of Europeans, and a translation student became a facilitator of a youth exchange dedicated to the fight against hate and bullying.
