We invite proactive and motivated students of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management, and Law to join the prestigious COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) virtual mobility project, implemented in partnership with the Dutch university Avans University of Applied Sciences (Den Bosch) and leading higher education institutions worldwide!
About the Project
Topic: Intercultural Negotiations.
Project language: English.
Format: online collaborative work in mixed international micro-groups (3 students from different countries per group).
Partner geography: the Netherlands, Ukraine, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Croatia, and India.

Project Goal and Key Topics
Students will explore and compare the specifics of conducting international negotiations across various countries through a combination of theory and real-world practice:
• Verbal and non-verbal communication across different cultures;
• Values, beliefs, and their influence on negotiation processes;
• Intercultural business relations and business protocol;
• Effective communication within the global economic environment.
What Will Participants Do (Work Format)?
• Online meetings: participation in the joint kick-off and final sessions.
• Business interviews: arranging and conducting an online interview with international business entrepreneurs together with your international group.
• Analytics and research: comparing negotiation practices across the represented countries.
• Final result (End Product): producing a collaborative 3-minute video based on research findings and conducting peer evaluations of projects.
All learning materials, video instructions, and methodological support will be provided via the Padlet platform.
Key Dates
• November 12 (16:00 Kyiv time): kick-off online meeting for students from all participating countries.
• November 12–26: active working phase in international teams (total workload – approximately 10–12 hours across the entire period).
• November 26 (16:00 Kyiv time): final online conference, video presentations, and wrap-up session.
Candidate Requirements
• Student of any year of study and major at the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management, and Law;
• English proficiency level of B1 or higher;
• High motivation, strong communication skills, readiness to work in a team, and commitment to deadlines.

The “Intercultural Negotiations” project marks the second collaborative international online initiative implemented by National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” in partnership with the leading Dutch institution, Avans University of Applied Sciences. In May 2023, Polytechnic faculty and students successfully carried out their first large-scale educational online project focused on the development of international business startups and youth entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, the university's students regularly earn competitive opportunities for semester-long and year-long on-campus study directly at Avans campuses. In particular, during the 2023/2024 academic year, Management student Yelyzaveta Kalashnyk successfully completed the European Project Semester programme, while Environmental Studies student Anna Bulavenko completed a full one-year course of study at Avans under the Erasmus+ programme, presenting a series of significant practical research projects.

The ‘Intercultural Negotiations’ project is much more than just an academic module; it is hands-on practice in business negotiations where Polytechnic students will work in micro-teams alongside peers from the Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Croatia, and India, learning to find common ground and comprehend the business cultures of other nations.
