From July 31 to August 6, 2023, the European Bench Press and Classic Bench Press Championships were held in the French city of Merignac for all age groups. Experienced athletes from European countries compete for the championship in different age and weight categories, demonstrating excellent physical form, results of hard training and thirst for victory.
Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine, powerlifting coach, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oksana Hordiienko became the silver medallist of the European Championship in the classic bench press among women in the Masters 1 age group. The athlete of the Poltava Polytechnic showed the result 74 kg in the weight category of 57 kg.
According to the winner, persistent daily training, successful performances at prestigious international tournaments constantly motivate her to become better in the chosen sport, not to stop at the achieved sports peaks, harden the character and the will to win.

Previously, Polytechnic teacher Oksana Hordiienko became the champion of Ukraine in the classic bench press, the teacher and students of the Polytechnic won the Championship of the Poltava Region in classic bench press, and the Polytechnic teacher Oksana Hordiienko won the silver medal of the European Powerlifting Championship.
