Each of you is a fighter, every day you train for victory. I would like to wish you all that you will be able to carry all your qualities acquired during training and in gyms into your life. Because Ukrainians are a nation of winners.
I also want to say that the Poltava region has great boxing traditions. I am sure that one of you will be able to raise the flag at international competitions, at the world and European championships, at the Olympic Games,” – noted Dmytro Lunin.
Before the start of the competition, those present held a moment of silence for compatriots who died as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
“It is very pleasant that today in our city such competitions are taking place in this difficult time for our country. Of course, I am very pleased to be here now, because it was from these competitions that my father and I once began our boxing journey. We can say that these competitions are very important. Every athlete who steps into the ring today is a source of pride for our region, our city, and our country. All those athletes who will become the best in the category will go to the Championship of Ukraine in order to represent our region worthily and win gold medals. From my personal experience, I can say that parents, coaches, and our young generation of boxers have a difficult path ahead of them, many difficult tests await them, which they will definitely pass, and in the future gold medals of Europe and the world, and possibly the Olympic Games, await them. I believe in this and I can say with confidence that our athletes believe as well, as it is not for nothing that they have gathered here today. I wish everyone good mood, emotions, peace. And of course, may the strongest win!” – congratulated the athletes Olympic silver medalist Oleksandr Khyzhniak.
