National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” took 58th place among Ukrainian universities in the 2022 Scopus scientometric database ranking. In total, more than two hundred Ukrainian higher education institutions were included in the ranking. Compared to last year, Poltava Polytechnic rose in the ranking by 18 steps.
The university continues to be a leader among Poltava higher education institutions. Poltava State Medical University took 96th place. On the 127th – Poltava State Agrarian Academy, Poltava University of Economics and Trade – 140th place, Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V. G. Korolenko – 159th place.

As a result, we rose higher in the ranking of scientific activities. Thanks to you, the university is among the best! This not only confirms the undisputed leadership of our university in the field of higher education, but also increases the prestige of study in Ukraine. Even during the war, we have resumed active scientific activity and are preparing new scientific developments – the development of scientific potential is an approach of victory,” – commented Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
The results of the ranking of higher education institutions are based on the indicators of the Scopus database, which is a tool for tracking citations of scientific articles published by the educational institution or its employees. Scopus data is used in compiling some rankings of the world’s leading universities (Times Higher Education, QS World University Rankings, etc.). The Scopus database constantly indexes more than 20,000 scientific journals and hundreds of book series.
It should be recalled that scientists are invited to publish the results of their scientific researches in periodicals of Poltava Polytechnic.
